"Excellent! I would highly recommend this company. I had the exterior of my home painted. The workmen were quiet, respectful and highly skilled. They did an incredibly thorough job with tremendous attention to detail. And they kept the work space impeccably clean. I have never been happier with a house painting experience!"

"It went exceptionally well! We discussed a price, within minutes the house was pressure cleaned, then a day later his crew showed up, made the necessary trim and stucco repairs, they removed the chipping paint and painted the trim and two story house in one day. The paint is thick and rich, the trim gleams. James White and his team did an excellent job. Neighbors liked it so much, four neighbors had him do their homes. The neighborhood looks great! James White and his team are good!"

"Darren and his team at GotPaint are phenomenal. Super fair pricing and exceptional work on top of great communication and responsiveness. They went above and beyond helping with things that weren’t even part of their initial bid. I would highly recommend GotPaint for any paint projects around your home."

"Arrived on time for estimate! Very knowledgeable and professional. Helped choosing color, obtained several samples for review. Crew Nicole and Joseph arrived on time the day without Chris, were neat, did an excellent job and cleaned up afterwards. Communicated all during the painting. Excellent experience and professional job. Will certainly use again and recommend."

Painting questions, answered by experts

The best way to prepare your vinyl fence for a paint job is to clean it with warm, soapy water and rinse it with a hose or pressure washer on a low setting. Be sure to let it totally dry, then sand the surface before applying an epoxy-based primer. After the primer, you're ready to paint your vinyl fence.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

The best type of paint to use for chain link fences is an oil-based paint. Oil-based paints are durable and will withstand the elements well. Search for an oil-based paint with rust protection and aluminum flakes to further protect the longevity of the fence.
