"The workers that came were prompt and did their work with few interruptions except to ask me questions about how I wanted something placed. It was done (bathtub and wet area remodel) in two days and after waiting 24 hours I was able to enjoy a nice long deep soak bath. No regrets here. It's only been a few months so I can't speak to anything that may happen long term down the road but it's lifetime warranty so that's covered. Also their rep was the most calm and professional out of a number that came to give a quote."

"I worked with DS Legend home builders on my full home. Remodel, and Iâ m extremely happy with the results! The team was very respectful of our home, did an excellent job answering all our needs, and made our dream designs come to life. Lavi was our project manager, he handled all parties involved very professionally, and made overall process much easier and smoother for us. Even when hiccups came along, they handled it made sure we are happy with the final results. "C&H Cleaning & Handyman Services Formally Cristina and Jared's Cleaning I have used C & H Cleaning and Handyman Services for about a year and a half. I highly recommend their services. Originally I hired them to clean my house before a party. While they were at it I had them fix some things around the house. They did such a good job I hired them to clean my mothers house for an event and then I gave my daughter a clean house as a Birthday present using their services. Currently they come every two weeks to clean my house and they do a very great job. Usually I have the same person all of the time, she is very through and efficient. She helps do special little projects, like cleaning and organizing a closet. On occasion when the regular person could not come, Al the owner comes with the replacement to make sure that they know what I like. They also bring their own cleaning supplies. They use something better than BONO on my wood floors. I found they also steam carpets , so I had them steam clean an area rug that was filthy and had really thick pile. It looks great now."

"I hired Fausto to paint and repair the ceilings. While he was here, he replaced another broken appliance. I highly recommend him. He pulled me out of 3 jams this week."

"We could not be happier with Mark and his team. My mom's bathroom was completed on schedule and to our specifications. Mark responded to texts and emails quickly and was on site daily to make sure that all the work was being done properly by his team. He advised us well when we needed his input, and we are thrilled with the new shower that is easily accessible and beautiful!"

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The cost to install a shower or a tub is roughly the same. Shower installation costs range from $2,400 to $8,800 and vary depending on the type and size, materials used, and the complexity of the features. For similar reasons, the average bathtub cost can range from $2,000 to $9,400.

If you don’t caulk your bathtub, then there won’t be a watertight seal between your bathtub and the wall tile surrounding it. As a result, water can seep into the wall and the floor and cause the perfect breeding grounds for mold and mildew. Not only does this require costly repairs, but mold can be harmful to those breathing it.

There are several ways to save money on a bathroom remodel through proper planning and savvy design strategies. To reduce costs, consider the following:

  • Purchase your own materials: Buy your own bathroom fixtures, hardware, and other materials to avoid contractor upcharges and delivery fees.

  • Shop smart for big-ticket items: Save on pricey items like tiles and tubs by shopping sales and at discount stores.

  • Avoid major layout changes: Keep plumbing in its current location. Opt to replace fixtures rather than moving them to avoid significant renovation work.

  • Focus on high-impact, low-cost updates: Make affordable but impactful smaller changes, such as upgrading hardware, installing new lighting, and adding stylish but economical accessories.

  • DIY where possible: Handle easier parts of the remodel yourself, like painting or installing light fixtures, to save on labor costs.

  • Time your remodel strategically: Consider remodeling in the spring, which tends to be a lower-demand time of year and may result in lower costs.

The average cost to convert a tub to a shower is around $3,000, but prices can range from $1,000 to as high as $15,000. A more typical range is between $1,200 and $8,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the amount of plumbing work required, the size of the shower, and the type of materials and fixtures chosen. A prefabricated shower stall is a more budget-friendly option, while a custom shower with features like luxury tiles, unique tiling, smart technology, or accessibility features will be at the higher end of the cost spectrum.

An alcove tub is designed to fit into a three-walled enclosure in a bathroom. A drop-in tub, on the other hand, is placed into a custom-built frame or enclosure. This frame can be fitted to an alcove, making a drop-in tub a viable alternative if you want a more custom or spa-like look. Because the frame is custom, drop-in tubs offer more design flexibility and a wider range of materials, such as cultured marble or tile, compared to the simpler acrylic or fiberglass of a typical alcove tub. The frame for a drop-in tub can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom it fits, not just in an alcove.
