"We considered various companies/proposals when we were looking to do our bathtub to shower conversions. We are delighted we choose Shugarmanâ s Bath. All the Shugarmanâ s folks (Owner, Sales, Office, Installers, Supervisors) we interacted with throughout the purchase, installation and subsequent interactions were/are top notch. After the installation we asked about a relate concern, Shugarmanâ s inspected the situation and then 100% addressed the issue even though it meant notable effort on their part. When Shugarman says they stand 100% behind their product/work that is not a mere slogan. Cannot recommend them highly enough."

"Al and his team have been fantastic in both service and workmanship. We needed a shower replaced in our rental home. He not only provided a number of options, but recommended ways to save money as well. The work project itself, Al made sure if there were any concerns we had, he addressed it promptly. We plan to use C&H for a number of other smaller handyman projects we need done both immediately and any others in the future."

"I hired Fausto to paint and repair the ceilings. While he was here, he replaced another broken appliance. I highly recommend him. He pulled me out of 3 jams this week."

"I have a pretty old master shower that had started leaking a bit which caused some mold issues with some trim around the wall near the leak. Also, the shower caulk has been damaged to the point where it needed to be replaced along with the shower door which was the main source of the leak. So, it was time to get things looked at by a professional. Didi came out and gave a very thorough look at my issues and recommended I get the shower door replaced, caulking re-done, and baseboard trim replaced from the damage that was there. He also suggested I get the drywall in the damaged area replaced, which was a must at this point. Communication was great with Sheiner Construction and Didi. He worked extremely hard getting the right people involved in my project. This being one of my first BIG projects for my house, I had a few companies come and look. Sheiner Construction was the most reasonable and the repairs suggested by Didi made the most sense. Didi maintained great contact with me, keeping me up to date with what materials I was responsible for vs the contractors. Overall it was a fantastic experience, and I am already lining up some more projects for Sheiner Construction to handle for me. It is my understanding that they literally will do any job, small or large. Fantastic experience! Thanks to Didi and Sheiner Construction for putting my worries at ease and doing a great job on my project! Get ready, I am lining up a lot more stuff for next year."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

A powder room cannot have a bath. If it had a bath, it would likely be considered a three-quarter bath or full bath, depending on the other features. You might hear the term “powder room” used to describe a bathroom used by guests, but it wouldn’t technically be a powder room. However, powder rooms or half baths are ideal for guests because they can use it without entering the more private areas of the home.

The average cost to convert a tub to a shower is around $3,000, but prices can range from $1,000 to as high as $15,000. A more typical range is between $1,200 and $8,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the amount of plumbing work required, the size of the shower, and the type of materials and fixtures chosen. A prefabricated shower stall is a more budget-friendly option, while a custom shower with features like luxury tiles, unique tiling, smart technology, or accessibility features will be at the higher end of the cost spectrum.

While tubs are fairly sturdy, you may notice cracks or holes. This kind of damage can happen from someone accidentally dropping something heavy into the tub. You might also see damage if you drop something heavy into the tub over and over again (like your extra large bottle of body wash). While you might only notice a small dent at first, this can later turn into a crack or a hole.

Also, certain cleaners that are harmful to your tub can cause damage. And if you have a fiberglass tub, you might see cracks if it was not installed properly with the right support.

An alcove tub is designed to fit into a three-walled enclosure in a bathroom. A drop-in tub, on the other hand, is placed into a custom-built frame or enclosure. This frame can be fitted to an alcove, making a drop-in tub a viable alternative if you want a more custom or spa-like look. Because the frame is custom, drop-in tubs offer more design flexibility and a wider range of materials, such as cultured marble or tile, compared to the simpler acrylic or fiberglass of a typical alcove tub. The frame for a drop-in tub can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom it fits, not just in an alcove.

The diverter valve in your bathtub is responsible for diverting water between your tub spout and your shower head. If water comes out of both at the same time, you have a faulty diverter valve. You can have a plumber replace this for you, or you can replace it yourself if you have some experience working with plumbing fixtures.
