"We remodeled our kitchen with Gaetaway Electric, and let me say how impressed and pleased we are! Not only was Jacob professional, but he was also very communicative and detailed with every step. He is very knowledgeable in the electrical field, and gave us several different options and ideas. We were very hesitant on remodeling because we knew that with a lot of contractor work, it can take longer than what is expected. But Jacob was sure to finish on time, and we didnâ t experience any delays! We truly feel that this is a passion to Jacob, and he definitely goes above and beyond, and it shows in his work. Not only will he be our go to person for any of our electrical needs, but we have already referred him to our family and friends! Hands down, excellent service!!"

"Ray was instrumental in upgrading the electrical in my townhome, including installing new recessed lights, light fixtures, replacing receptacles with new ones and modern cover plates. He also relocated and installed a new subpanel providing dedicated circuits to appliances and the newly installed recessed lights. Ray is incredibly knowledgeable and very easy to work with and I would recommend him and happily use his services again."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

"Ok looking for someone to remodel our house was hard work. Look no further. We got so lucky to find Bay easy construction the most amazing company that took good care us. We had and old kitchen and two bathrooms that needed work. In addition, all the interior of the house was painted and the old popcorn ceiling was removed. We also upgraded the electric system in the house and installed a new paneling. During the process Ofer advised to change the flooring and we went from carpet to tile and it made a dramatic difference for the best. Ofer gave us a tempting price to get it done and we are so happy we decided to do this. All the work finished for less than two months. Yay! Construction can be painful but this was a very pleasant experience. Ofer and Bay Easy Construction is a responsive, quality company that is concerned with customer satisfaction. Everyone was professional and friendly, and I felt that they really listened to what I wanted to accomplish with my dreams. By the end they felt like family that took good care of us during this process I am grateful to them. The work they accomplished was modern clean and really good quality. We are very happy with the results."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

To avoid drilling into wire, you will need to trace your home's wiring using a stud finder, wire detector, circuit tracer, or voltage finder. Since locating wires in your home can be difficult for some homeowners, hire a professional electrician with the experience and knowledge needed to safely handle electrical systems before drilling into any walls in your home.

While most electrical items can be plugged into a GFCI outlet, some appliances with internal or stationary motors, such as refrigerators, vent fans, and fluorescent lighting, can cause nuisance tripping. This happens because they experience a small, normal amount of current leakage, which can cause the GFCI to trip even when the appliance is working correctly. Although this is not a safety hazard, it can be inconvenient and may cause the GFCI outlet to wear out faster. For this reason, it is often better to plug these types of appliances into a standard outlet. Additionally, electrical circuits over 100 feet long can sometimes cause tripping. Some appliances, like hair dryers, have their own built-in GFCI protection, so connecting them to a standard outlet is fine.

Yes—if a breaker is old or damaged, it might not be able to detect power surges or electrical overload. If that happens, the breaker won’t trip. Instead, it will begin to overheat, putting your electrical system at risk of fire or total electrical failure. Circuit breakers don’t last forever, so you can proactively replace old or damaged breakers before they stop working.

Under-cabinet lighting is generally energy-efficient, especially when using LED technology. Compared to traditional ceiling lighting or older bulb types like halogen and incandescent, LED under-cabinet lights consume significantly less energy, which helps reduce operating costs. This applies to various forms, including strip lights, puck lights, and built-in fixtures. For an option that uses no electricity, consider battery-operated puck lights. While they require periodic battery replacements, they have the added advantage of functioning during a power outage.

On average, the cost to wire a new home ranges from $2 to $5 per square foot. The cost to rewire a house is around the same, ranging from $2 to $4 per square foot. Often, though, new wiring comes with lower overall costs since it’s much easier to access a home’s foundation.
