"We remodeled our kitchen with Gaetaway Electric, and let me say how impressed and pleased we are! Not only was Jacob professional, but he was also very communicative and detailed with every step. He is very knowledgeable in the electrical field, and gave us several different options and ideas. We were very hesitant on remodeling because we knew that with a lot of contractor work, it can take longer than what is expected. But Jacob was sure to finish on time, and we didnâ t experience any delays! We truly feel that this is a passion to Jacob, and he definitely goes above and beyond, and it shows in his work. Not only will he be our go to person for any of our electrical needs, but we have already referred him to our family and friends! Hands down, excellent service!!"

"Ray was instrumental in upgrading the electrical in my townhome, including installing new recessed lights, light fixtures, replacing receptacles with new ones and modern cover plates. He also relocated and installed a new subpanel providing dedicated circuits to appliances and the newly installed recessed lights. Ray is incredibly knowledgeable and very easy to work with and I would recommend him and happily use his services again."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

"Ok looking for someone to remodel our house was hard work. Look no further. We got so lucky to find Bay easy construction the most amazing company that took good care us. We had and old kitchen and two bathrooms that needed work. In addition, all the interior of the house was painted and the old popcorn ceiling was removed. We also upgraded the electric system in the house and installed a new paneling. During the process Ofer advised to change the flooring and we went from carpet to tile and it made a dramatic difference for the best. Ofer gave us a tempting price to get it done and we are so happy we decided to do this. All the work finished for less than two months. Yay! Construction can be painful but this was a very pleasant experience. Ofer and Bay Easy Construction is a responsive, quality company that is concerned with customer satisfaction. Everyone was professional and friendly, and I felt that they really listened to what I wanted to accomplish with my dreams. By the end they felt like family that took good care of us during this process I am grateful to them. The work they accomplished was modern clean and really good quality. We are very happy with the results."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

It’s possible to distinguish a positive black wire from a negative black wire if you know what type of circuit the wires are in. If it’s an alternating current (AC), then black wires are positive. If it’s a direct current (DC), then black wires are negative.

Sometimes, a circuit has two black wires. In that case, the positive black wire will be solid black while the negative black wire will have a white stripe on it. If you’re still unsure, you can use a multimeter to check.

No, you should never plug a generator directly into a wall outlet in your house. This practice is extremely dangerous, often illegal, and can cause "back-feeding," where power from the generator flows back into utility lines, creating a life-threatening hazard for utility workers. It can also damage your home's electrical system, including appliances like pumps and HVAC fans. If the main power is restored while the generator is connected, it can destroy the generator and cause an electrical fire. To safely connect a generator, you must use a professionally installed transfer switch or an interlocking kit, which prevents back-feeding by disconnecting your home from the utility grid before the generator provides power.

Wiring an outlet can be done safely by someone with the proper knowledge and tools, but it can also be dangerous if not done correctly. If you're not comfortable working with electrical systems, it's best to hire a licensed electrician to do the job for you. That way, you can rest assured that your outlet will be rewired safely and quickly.

While you can technically live in a home while it's being rewired, prepare for some debris and dust if your electrical contractor needs to remove parts of walls, floors, and ceilings to access wires. If you stay home during the project, ask your electrician to cut the power supply to all exposed electrical wires to keep your family safe.

Yes, it’s possible to use a three-way switch as a two-way switch. You can use a three-way switch as a two-way switch by bypassing one of the traveler wires and using only one of the available traveler switch terminals.
