Customers say: Quick response

"John N Eddie were great to work with. They were both friendly and highly professional throughout the entire process. They used professional equipment to complete the tree removal and stump grinding efficiently. Whether we were talking before the work started or during the job, they were always courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. They arrived around 8:15 a.m. and completed the entire project by approximately 1:00 p.m. After removing the trees and grinding the stumps, they thoroughly cleaned the work area. They also repaired my fence after finishing the job, as they had needed to open it to access and remove a tree in the backyard. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend John N Eddie to anyone looking for a professional and reliable company for tree removal and stump grinding."

"On time, hard workers, excellent job pruning my 3 Japanese maple trees, pruning bushes and removing 2 trees. Also removed large area of weeds and rock coverings several layers of weed cloth that definitely didn't work. Left my front and backyards looking great."

"Yosca removed a tall palm tree in the backyard. Anthony was professional and courteous. He came out to give me a cost estimate, explained how the work would be done and asked me questions, something other companies did not do. It didn't take them long to remove the palm tree and I appreciate the fact they cleaned up after the work was done. What I appreciated the most was a last minute request to remove another tree, done in 15 minutes! Will definitely use them again in the future and will recommend them to friends and family."

"Can't go wrong with LD Tree Care! I called for an estimate and William came that day, they did the work 2 days later and they did an unbelievable job for a very good price. I got 1 big tree removed and 3 trimmed- they managed to dig up the superficial roots and haul everything away. Highly recommend"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

You can use the formula mentioned earlier to calculate the depth of tree roots. Each inch of width of a tree trunk translates to six inches of depth within the root system. Large trees extend anywhere from 2 to 6 feet into the ground, with some magnificent specimens going even deeper.

Transporting a fully-grown tree requires heavy equipment, typically specialized for the task. A tree spade is a truck-mounted tool that removes the tree from the ground in one location, transports it, and places it in a new hole in a new location. A combination of mechanized shovels and lifts is necessary to move very large trees, and the exact tools often depend on location and the surrounding area.

While palm trees can bring aesthetic appeal to your yard, they have a couple of drawbacks. The main disadvantage is that many types require warm climates, so if you live in a cold region, you need to ensure you pick a palm that can withstand the freezing temperatures. Another downside is that maintenance can be difficult because of their height, which means you will need to pay a pro to prune the tree as needed.

Steer clear of the area and contact your utility company immediately. It will have a website portal and/or a phone number to report downed trees and electrical issues. If the tree appears to be on public land, you may want to call your local government and report the issue there, too.

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.
