"We had radiant barrier insulation installed insteads of blown in insulation. It was laid in the attic rafters, upon the completion of the job the service provider could have done a better job of cleaning up. He also left some marking on our cabinet. When the gentleman came over to give us an idea of what radiant barrier is we never knew when he would be there, they gave us an estimate but then upon completion we wrote a check, but never received a receipt of payment, or work order showing completed work. All we had was the gentleman sign the estimate that we had been given two weeks prior to the job. And the installer did not have any paperwork saying that he did the job. But we had him write that on the estimate. I would expect more professional paperwork."

My wife and I did a thorough search in getting the best A/C Contractor in the Sacramento area.  The search included Angie?s List, Better Business Bureau, California State Contractor?s License reviews, personal recommendations from neighbors and friends.  After all our searching we ended up going with Diamond Heating and Air.   We signed the contract with Bob Weatherford who is also the owner of Diamond Heating & Air.

Both my wife and I were especially impressed with Bob?s thoroughness in explaining the type of system we really needed, the SEER rating of the equipment, and the best way of replacing the existing outdated  heating and cooling system, inadequate insulation, and faulty duct installation.   These were all good suggestions in transforming our home into a more energy efficient and comfortable environment.   Also, it was pointed out that some of the existing ducts became loose and disconnected.  Fiberglass insulation was blowing into one of the rooms.  The outdated  ducts were installed many years ago, and were poorly installed, wasting lots of energy, and the duct work was hanging too low below the floor joists.  

Bob suggested that the new duct system be relocated and strapped contiguous to the floor joists which would allow us to walk underneath the house so we could better utilize the space for movement and storage.  Another big task involved the installation of new attic insulation.   This was a big job that required the knowledge that Bob has as being a Licensed Building Contractor.  

Again, the thing I appreciated the most was Bob?s honesty and the effort he made to make things right.  Bob and Elaine worked hard to qualify us for the SMUD low interest rate financing and qualify us for the rebates that SMUD and PG&E were offering.  This helped us tremendously in bringing down the costs of the project.    My wife and I are extremely happy that our home now has an excellent home energy assessment from SMUD and PG&E.  We expect that our annual electric savings will be significant.  We are very happy to recommend Diamond Heating & Air to our family and friends.

"Our existing HVAC systems (one package unit for downstairs and one split system upstairs) were failing us after 26 years of use. We knew it was time to replace both systems so we interviewed 5 local HVAC companies for quotes. Ray O. Cook rose to the top for a number of reasons: (1) their Comfort Consultant, Paul M., helped us to compare our 12-month actual costs from gas and electric statements, to show us the approximate cost we spent on heating and cooling our house. That was helpful to see that we didn't need the highest SEER/EER rated new equipment, but rather a mid-rate SEER rated equipment to still reap the financial benefit of upgrading our systems. This had been our assumption from the start but other companies were trying to sell us the premium, top-end systems with the much higher price tag.  We didn't need that nor could we afford that. Also, Paul did an airflow rate test to help gage how much tonnage of equipment our home needed. It was different than what the existing equipment was. (2) The two-day installation went smoothly. I was present the entire time, asking questions and reviewing the processes throughout the days. The lead installer was very experienced. He always took the time to thoroughly answer my many questions. On day two (the last day) of installation, the installers continued to work into the night in order to get the job done right. I never once felt that they were rushing to get the work done in the least amount of time. WARNING: I heard that some other HVAC companies pay their installer by the day (or project), which Ray O. Cook does not. It was a pleasure working with the installers and having them in our home. They were punctual, polite, efficient, hard-working and very knowledgeable. Our home was as clean as before they started. Now after using the system for a week, I can say we are very pleased with the entire outcome. We believe Ray O. Cook helped us select the right systems for our home, and installed it to the highest ACCA standards, using NATE certified (trained) installers. We are very pleased and would highly recommend Ray O.
