"I hired Tony (Atlantis Decorative Coatings) to paint the outside of a 2700 square foot house. He and his crew (4 people in total) took one day to pressure wash and four days to paint. Tony (or Rembrandt as I referred to him) did an awesome job. He has an eye for color (I approved all of his suggestions), showed me some things that he thought should be painted that I would have overlooked, was very careful of the plants around the house and cleaned up after the job was done. Tony was also friendly and has a nice sense of humor. I highly recommend."

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

Pressure washing pros use several factors to determine fence pressure washing costs—and one of the main factors they consider is the fence’s material. The material dictates the required PSI—which, in turn, affects the amount of labor needed for the job.

Contractors may also consider the number of gallons per minute (GPM) needed to pressure wash specific materials. GPM, which refers to the rate of water being released from a pressure washer, helps determine how long a job will take for specific fencing materials.

You should always power wash your driveway before applying a sealant. At any given time, your driveway could be covered with algae and moss, tire residue, oil and rust stains, and any combination of leaves, twigs, and dirt. If you skip power washing, you’ll be trapping the dirt and grime beneath the sealant and lowering its chance of cementing itself to your driveway. While you can expect the cost to pressure wash your driveway to average between $100 and $350, the few hundred dollars beats an unattractive driveway or paying extra to reapply your driveway sealer.

Yes, most pressure washing companies use your home's water supply, typically from an outdoor spigot. However, some companies can bring their own water in a tank or truck. This is less common and may incur additional costs for filling and hauling the water. It's a good idea to ask a company which method they use when you call for a cost estimate.

While a pressure washer is certainly powerful enough to remove old and peeling paint, this is not a great idea to do yourself. The pressure washer is so powerful that you could actually damage the walls as you strip away the paint. It’s best to leave paint stripping to the pros.

Brick takes longer to dry than less porous materials like concrete. If you are waiting to spot clean, a full day of mild weather should do the trick. If you are waiting to paint or apply a finish or sealant, give it three to four days to ensure the brick is absolutely dry as a bone. You don’t want any residual moisture whatsoever before laying down paint or sealant.
