"I hesitated to ever do this review because it was so long ago! But AL keeps sending me requests for review and since I think this is what we go on Angie's List for - to determine who is reliable, professional or not I decided to do this review! They were very nice people, they did a good job in cleaning out chimney and not making a mess. So I also had them do my dryer vent which exhausts up and out through a vent on my flat roof . I thought it would be simple to accomplish! However, he pulled the vent cover off.. instead of trying to find a way to unscrew or ???? and when he did so, he ripped it out of its mooring and cannot be put back on properly. and since I had foam and elastomeric roof coating this was ripped out of that coating and left a big gash of open foaming! Next time it rained... leaked into the ceiling of bedroom below this. I had stated when he was doing it... you can't pull that off there it is imbedded in the roofing! So I feel that this was not a very professional decision on his part to see this was going to be and then chose to pull that off there and thereby create the leak issue!"

"I have used them for the past 10 years and I have nothing bad to say. I have had 2 complete units replaced by them with no issues after install. The staff is the friendliest and knowledgeable. The tenure of their employees says a lot about the company!! I won't use anyone but Jaycox."

"I should have read other reviews before calling AFFORDABLE. My complaint follows along the same lines as others. Long story short, we paid $299.86 for a new door latch on our washing machine. The tech told my wife the part was $257.00. She questioned as to why so expensive and he told her because we have a high end machine. We paid $990.00 for it just 2 years ago and now we just paid almost 25% of that total cost for a door latch. Like others, I found the exact same part on Amazon for $34.99. These people get the job done satisfactorily but at total "rip off" prices. It is a shame. You talk to Duane, the owner (who talks over you and accused me of trying to hold him hostage by writing a bad review if he didn't lower the price) but he is extremely defensive. I never asked him to lower the price and was insulted by his insinuation. I asked him if he thought $299.86 was fair for a $34.99 part and about 5 minutes of labor. He never directly answered that question but talked on and on about how he supplies all his "guys" (there are 4 others) with what he repeatedly told me are "expensive" Appliance Blue Books that tell them what to charge for a given part of a given brand and the labor to replace it. There are such books but they are obviously not taking a local cost of living into account. You pay New York City prices in Chino Valley. Great scam for this local "AFFORDABLE" company. Before you call them, check out the other reviews on Yelp and you'll see, as I did (too late), that you will pay way too much with these people. As one other reviewer put it, "let the buyer beware"."

"Came out right on time. The tech was friendly and helpful. Gave us all our options and helped us chose the best for us. The installation went smoothly. These guys take care of my AC as well, and I am completely satisfied with this job and the rest of what they do for us."

"MY AC was out for three weeks and the company that the warranty company assigned me to did not know what they were doing. They wanted unsafe modifications made to my attic to get the unit in. After unbelievable frustration I was able to get the warranty company to switch me over to Armer. Within one week they installed my new system. No modifications were needed. They were all nice and communication was great. The two young men that installed did a great job and a month later, I have AC running. Thank you for coming in and making this happen!"

"Edit: Ronnie called about the review and pressured us to remove it trying to bribe us with a refund. A refund would be the bare minimum. He tried to guilt trip us and make us feel bad. This seemed to be the standard practice. I don't think you can trust the lack of negative reviews for this company. They called me within minutes to ask me to take it down. He said we were lucky not to have been charged over $200 for 2 AAA batteries. Which was never communicated to us at the time. Baffling experience. I do not know where the other 5 star reviews came from. We called them because we needed a Trane Certified technician. We explained the error codes we were getting and the front desk was extremely helpful. They said they would have a Trane Certified Sr. Technician out to take a look at the system. Bihn did not seem to know much about HVAC in general let alone Trane. He tried to stand on our furniture rather than get his ladder. We had to ask him multiple times not too. He refused to get his ladder from upstairs and we had to get ours from the garage. He had to google the error codes we had and even after reading the reference documents had to ask us what the codes meant. In the end, we were charged $20 (with a coupon) for him to replace 2 AAA batteries in a sensor (he asked us to use our own). Incredibly unprofessional. We will be reporting Hobaica to Trane to request an audit because there is no way Bihn is certified to work on these units and we will be requesting a refund or charge back because we did not receive the agreed upon services."
