"He was quick, affordable, professional, informative, and polite.
A leaked appeared in my bedroom that morning and I was frantic to find someone to check it out before I left on vacation that evening. Gene was great. He was able to come out and inspect the roof and damage within 2 hours of my phone call. He quoted me $350 for the repair, but did give me more information on my roof, how leaks happen, and that replacing it would be a better solution. For a total replacement, it would cost $6500 and they offer payment plans. Although I have not decided on replacing the roof just yet, I would definitely consider them for the job.

"The provider requested OK from Choice Warranty and he was denied. It rained last night and rain came into my home. It could have been avoided if Choice had just approved what I requested. Now, the damage will be greater than necessary. I blame Choice home warranty for my home damage. Now it will cost mote than a simple tarp could have prevented until I could get money to repair roof. The provider was great and tried his best to get something done to my roof but Choice Warranty was horrible and no help. They get a "zero" from me"

If you’re looking for a cost-effective alternative to a traditional chimney, consider having a dummy chimney installed. Dummy chimneys can either be aesthetic-only or fully functional and can be installed on both new and older homes. Whether installed to match your neighborhood’s aesthetic or to vent your chimney, dummy chimneys are made out of a Glass-Reinforced Plastic (GRP) core, then covered with brick or stone slips to look like a traditional chimney.

You can install solar panels on a flat or pitched roof, but keep in mind that they will need to rest at a 30- to 50-degree tilt for optimal sun absorption. It costs more to install solar panels on a flat roof because you will need to install a framing system and likely hire a structural engineer. If your roof has a pitch of more than 40 degrees, it may not be a good candidate for solar panels.

Using an ice and water shield underlayment under a metal roof is a good way to protect the roof and your home from damage in colder climates that see a lot of winter weather. Traditional underlayment isn’t effective underneath a metal roof, though, so be sure to install one specifically made for metal roofs to get the best protection.

Generally, the term “rolled roofing” refers to MSR (mineral surface roll) roofing. This type of roofing is similar to asphalt shingles but comes in a roll that’s unraveled and installed over your roof deck. There are many types of rolled roofing, including TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen roofing (aka torch down roofing).

The placement of snow guards depends on the individual roof, but typically snow guards are placed between 12 and 18 inches from the eaves, though they can be placed as close as six inches and as far as 24 inches from the eaves. A roofing professional can assess the roof and potential snow loads to determine the best placement.
