- Excellent Roofing LLCWe purchased an old house with a new roof and chimney. There was a leak around the chimney which the roofers blamed on the chimney and the chimney guy blamed on the roofers. The roof was under warranty and the roofers made a sloppy "repair" by slapping some caulk and tar on the chimney. We got second opinions from another chimney company and Kee roofing and both agreed it was the improper/incomplete installation of moisture guard/flashing around the chimney. We were in for a series of big storms and the original roofers were unavailable. Kee was so professional and courteous in their initial evaluation that we decided it would be better to pay for them to do the job correctly than fight with the original roofers for a half a** fix under the warranty. Kee came out in a timely manner and completed the job in one day. The job included 1) reshingle and flash chimney 2) replace roof decking 3) install moisture guard 4) also fixed some issues on our garage free of charge. I got home from work late and at our request Travis Kee came out personally to review the work with me and waited patiently while I saw to the dogs. The workmanship was tidy and precise and the materials used appeared to be of high quality. We feel the money was well spent in that there was a timely, permanent, and very aesthetically pleasing repair and that our possessions are now safe from the elements. Mr. Kee is relatively new to Angie's list, but I anticipate that he will continue to accumulate many positive reviews. In summary, A+ highly recommend

I was looking for someone to re-roof my Mom's home (I Live in Alabama) while it was possible I could not be there I was looking for someone with a good rating here and there rating was tops in the roofing category. The price was within a reasonable distance of others without the high rating and we agreed on a price and a work order and they set a date. He provided my Mom with some samples that allowed her to pick the shingles and then the work began. There was a bit of decking that had to be replaced and some siding and painting on the chimney and they handled all that with the crew on hand. I was not able to be there the day of the roofing and Travis went above and beyond to keep me in the loop as to the progress. They were there when they said they would be they used a quality dimensional shingle and replaced all the vents and boots and painted them. The job was done the same day it was started and the roof looks great. I would highly recommend Travis and His company, Kee Roofing and Home Improvement, to anyone and will use his company again in the future if we need some work done

"I knew this installation would not be easy since the old vent fan vented into a space in the attic that was not accessible from the attic itself, but I think even Mr. Carter underestimated how much of a pain putting this thing in would be. When Mr. Carter originally quoted me, he also was able to advise me which Broan model would be the most quiet. I ordered it off Amazon and it arrived two days later. The $180 was for installation of the timer and his labor--it does NOT include the cost of the actual fan too.
<br /> My fan was installed on 7/31/13 and the first part of the install took him from about 11 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. Getting the old vent fan casing out was difficult and putting the new casing in was also difficult since he had to and quot;pushand quot; the new casing in from downstairs versus going into the attic and being able to push it in place downward. A larger hole did have to be cut in order to accomplish this, and because of that, Mr. Carter had to come back a few weeks later and patch up where the hole was cut. Once the fan was in place, Mr. Carter installed a nice electronic timer that can be set for 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes and cuts off automatically.
<br /> Considering the price I paid for this work, I think it was likely TWICE that much of a headache for Mr. Carter than what I was charged. It was not an easy job, and Mr. Carter never made me pay a dime to him until the ENTIRE job was finished, including the patching up of where the hole had to be cut. While it was sometimes hard to stay in touch with him, if he said he was going to be there on a particular day at a particular time, he did follow through. It's hard to find a contractor who will do what they say when they say they will do it, so I must give a big thumbs up for Mr. Carter's honesty and integrity.
