We would not hire this company again. We hired them to inspect our fireplace. They gave us a quote of what was needed in order to use our fireplace safely. Everything in the fireplace was visible during their initial inspection. Before the work was done, I asked if we could use the fireplace safely once the work was complete. They confirmed that we could. After they did repairs, they said more work was needed to make the fireplace safe. The work they mentioned was all visible at the initial inspection. Essentially they sent us a low quote for part of the work in order to force us to pay for more work to use the fireplace. We’ve asked them to complete the work to make the fireplace safe as that is what we were told we would get with the initial quote, but they refuse. We’re out of a deposit now and still can’t use the fireplace. Be aware of a low quote with additional work required after. We don’t know a lot about fireplaces so we usually trust the information a company gives us, so do a lot of a research with what they send you.

This is the best chimney service I have ever used!!! The office people were pleasant, responsive, and a delight to work with. The crew arrived right at 1 pm as promised. They did the most complete cleaning I’ve seen on our wood stove, including taking the interior stovepipe apart to scrape it out. They also went up on the roof to inspect and try to clean the upper reaches of the outdoor pipe. They were also very reasonable price-wise. I can't say enough good things about them!

I thought the worker was anxious to sell me a replacement - larger and with a much larger price. I believe he was anxious to move on rather than give time to answer my questions.

It went well without a bang. I would hire again.

I had a great experience with Capitol Chimney. I called them for a chimney inspection because I had the plumbing company come out and check the boiler and other than needing a new damper motor (which they replaced), they said the boiler was fine. So after about a week, my boiler was still blowing hot air into the laundry room through the spill switch vent due to the backdraft from the chimney. This was the beginning of January and we were going to have a week of freezing temperatures and everyone was super busy. I called Capitol Chimney and they were nice enough to fit me in for a chimney inspection. Abraham and Carlos came out and were very friendly and explained everything about the chimney showing me the pictures of inside the chimney also explaing that I needed a chimney liner to fix the problem. They were very professional and made me feel like it was one of my friends talking to me. I appreciate good customer service as that is just as important as the quality of the work if not more so. I set up an appointment with Diana. She is fantastic! She knows a lot about chimneys, just as much as one of the techss! She was really great on the phone and I felt at ease with her and she kept me updated on where the truck was as well as all the email paperwork sent back and forth. Great customer service from her as well! Very important. So my appointment day to replace the chimney liner came and they were able to show up very early! Joaquin and Augustino were very nice and professional and such hard workers! I was curious how a chimney liner was installed and watched them do some of the work. It is very time consuming and hard work as there is a lot of cutting involved and work on the outside as well as the inside and the chimney cap looks so good that my neighbor said it is the nicest one on the block. HAHA! They really took the time to put the tarp down in the laundry room and were vacuuming the whole time they were working. In fact, the laundry room was cleaner after they left! Joaquin explained how the 'T' worked in the pipes and we tested the boiler and hot water heater and everything worked great. I am really happy with their work. In fact, I am happy with the whole process from beginning to end. It has been over a month now and the boiler is actually working better than it did before. It has worked every time we turn it on and that is a relief not having to worry about it anymore. So kudos to Capitol Chimney for an outstanding job! Thanks, Paul

We are a veteran military family. In November 2014, we hired Capitol Chimney Service to install a stainless liner and replace the chimney crown as the old crown was badly weathered and needed replacing. We paid $1700. When the chimney guys said they were done, I noticed that they were hooking up our woodstove to the liner with our old elbow and immediately asked why we were not receiving a proper tee so the chimney could be properly cleaned and installed. The installer told me that it is not needed and the old elbow was just fine. Since that time, we have had Capitol Chimney Service out to clean the liner, which the guy did from the inside creating a huge dusty mess. Again I asked him why we did not get a proper tee installed, and again they claimed it wasn't necessary. Just this last winter, we had another chimney service come out to clean the chimney. They immediately told me I need to have the crown replaced as it was cracked from front to back AND we needed the required stainless tee in order to be assured of our safety. Since I knew Capitol Chimney Service had done the work a few years before and I knew it had a warranty, I called and told them there was a serious issue with the crown they had replaced and about the missing tee. When the guy for Capitol Chimney Service came, he said the chimney had creosote build up and the liner warranty was no longer going to honored by Capitol Chimney Service AND the tee was not necessary. I knew right away there was a serious issue with the service we received from Capitol Chimney Service, a service we paid over $1700 for 5 years before. I called the office and explained the issue. I was told by the "manager" that a tee is not necessary in most cases, which is 100% the opposite of what another chimney service recommended and every other source of information I read online about how a stainless liner was supposed to be installed. After spending about 25 tense minutes with Capitol Chimney Service manager, I discovered that Capitol Chimney Service did NOT even provide us with the proper chimney crown we paid for initially. Much to my surprise, she came up with every excuse as to why we weren't provided with the service we paid for and made us feel as if this whole affair was our fault. Not a single apology!! I insisted they provide us with the stainless tee in order for us to have a proper installation to our woodstove. It is now February 12 and the tee was finally dropped off and now we are forced to hire another company to come and finalize the install Capitol Chimney Service started over 5 years ago. I do NOT recommend Capitol Chimney Service. They have proven to a veteran military family that they are not honorable and that they do not provide proper timely service. AVOID AVOID AVOID Capitol Chimney Service!!!!

The work performed was done professionally & efficiently. The two gentleman called ahead of time to provide a time of arrival, and arrived within the set time frame. They were polite, and explained the process while the cleaning was being performed, and answered all of my questions after. The fireplace and chimney were cleaned, vacuumed, and made to look like new inside. Highly recommend.

Did not apply for required short form permit (insurance can be denied if something happened if not permitted). Sent two novice guys from unlicensed company to run gas line to fireplace. Work was not done to code and was potentially dangerous. Called for refund which was received. Also had said a chimney liner was required which turned out not to be true. This company may be okay for chimney cleaning but strongly recommend that you not use for gas fireplace installation.

Excellent! We could not have asked for a more helpful, responsive, professional and reliable company to help us out. As my brother is disabled and I lived in another state, Roger, the owner, and his amazing staff, including Diane and Jen, worked with us and the insurance company to be sure we would get through this horror. Roger went the extra mile to meet with the insurance rep at my brother's house to come up with an estimate that was appropriate for the work that needed to be done. I was kept in the loop during every phase of the process. The quality of the work was outstanding. I cannot say enough positive about Capitol Chimney. They ARE THE BEST at what they do in every way. We are so appreciative.

They installed a new chimney and now its leaking worse than before I had the chimney installed. For the amount I paid I should not have any leaks. The provider told me he would come out to put more sealant around the chimney. I'm not comfortable with that resolution to add more sealant, when my roofer informed me that the chimney guys put the pan back on incorrectly. I would like to have a 3rd opinion.

Ok, I still need for someone to change the location of my chimney pipes they need to be straight out because the tech said my pipes has a curve and the brush couldn't go straight down to the chimney so I don't no if all my pipes are clean. when I start my fire place. this winter.

Needed a water heater replaced and code says that a chimney liner is necessary. I called around and Capitol Chimney had a competitive quote. We had used them once before for chimney cap, and the work there was good. They came out as scheduled and finished the work in a few hours. Everything looks good and they left extra pipe for the plumbing company to attach the water heater. Recommended
