"We had Magnolia Chimney LLC out today to clean our fireplace/chimney that hasn’t been used in probably…I don’t even know! (It was a hot mess!) Zackery Ward did a great job, was professional, friendly, and beyond fairly priced. He also went up on the roof to check things out, took pictures of some areas we need to have fixed before they become problems, and said he would reach back out in the spring to get us scheduled. I highly recommend!"

"Great. They replaced the skylights one morning and I didn't think they would have been ready that soon. 2 days later the roof was repaired. They were in and out, cleaned up after themselves and the work looks really good"

"I texted a request early in the morning and had a response within a few hours and he came to the house that evening. He gave me the option to fix the few tiles (which he felt would be a temporary fix) or to pull everything up and put down concrete board and retile. I chose to have him retile. The work was started 4 days later and completed the next day (Christmas Eve). They took care to pull up the tiles so that they could be reused. It has been almost 2 weeks and no problems. I have had to fix and paint some trim but Paul said at the time that he and his crew do not paint and that I should expect to have to do some painting where they had to tear out the baseboards. Overall, I am happy."

"Germantown Fireplace does the annual check for my air conditioning and heating. We have a service contract for $200 yearly. I have been using this company for years. I have no reason to switch. I am very happy with everything about the company. I would recommend them."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, vinegar can break down the adhesive bond, effectively dissolving the glue from wood. It will be much easier to wipe away. Vinegar’s acidity, which helps to make it an effective all-purpose cleaner, can also aid in removing adhesive with less chance of damaging the wood and finish than more aggressive solvents.

Most bed assemblies take 1-3 hours, depending on design and complexity.

Professionals use resin fillers, diamond polishing pads, and sealants to restore the surface.

Yes, you can repair cat scratches on leather furniture. A quick fix that won’t repair roughness is a leather recoloring balm that helps scratches blend in. Otherwise, use the following process.

  1. Clean the area and trim loose fibers.

  2. Rub leather binding glue all over the affected area.

  3. Sand the area down with fine-grit sandpaper and clean off any residue.

  4. Fill holes, scratches, and gouges with leather putty from a leather repair kit.

  5. Sand the area down again and clean off any residue.

  6. Apply leather colorant in several layers.

  7. Seal the color in with a leather sealant and finish.

It’s possible to make minor repairs yourself on leather furniture, including using patch kits and leather repair kits. For minor leather scratches that haven’t breached the surface, repair kits can work wonders. However, we strongly recommend leaving any extensive leather repair to professionals, including deep scratches, tears, peeling, and reupholstering. These repairs demand experience to get the final product to look professional, and inexperienced DIYers may cause additional damage to the furniture that demands further repairs.
