"I purchased a new HVAC system from Cardinal. Everything about the job went as planned, in the amount of time we were promised. The installers were professional and cleaned up the work space very well when they were finished. I would use Cardinal again without hesitation."

"Matt came right out and fixed two light switches that weren't working for one of my customers. He was quick, efficient and very professional. We especially appreciate it because it was done a Friday and we called at the last minute. We highly recommend them and will call them for all of our electrical needs in the future!"

"The communication with the cleaners was great. The scheduler called and discussed the job with me and got more detail on what we wanted done. We got an emailed estimate, and two reminders about the appointment. The team of 4 (Guadalupe, Claudia, Lorena, and Yolanda) showed up exactly on time and worked for 2 hours (8 hrs total cleaning time). They appeared to work very hard from the minute they got there. A brief inspection of the house showed it looked really good., but I have not done a thorough inspection. I was particularly impressed with the kitchen. They were not able to get all the way under the beds and furniture, which is understandable, but would have been nice if they could have done it. They did not seem to mind our dog being in the house, which was good. The only point of confusion was on the number of bathrooms. We have 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bathroom. The appointment only showed two bathrooms because the form asked for how many full bathrooms. I had them skip the 1/2 bathroom since that is the easiest one for us to do. The team was great, the scheduler was great and I would definitely hire them again."

"They were extremely professional. They knew exactly what we were talking about when we said what we wanted and gave us a good price. They didn't come exactly when they said they would, but as soon as they realized they would be late because their prior job was harder than expected, they called ahead. We had plenty of time to reschedule our day. We had them install three fans, including new fan control switches, and all three fans are solidly in place with no glitches. Overall, this was a great experience and I'll probably head straight for them the next time I need electrical work done."

"Adam and Pat do amazing work. They have been doing any work on the house we need for many years now. Most recently they fixed an internal sliding door which came off its tracks as well as installing handrails on the outside steps of our house. We would highly recommend Adam and Pat for any jobs you need completed."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

Never add oil unless the fan is specifically designed for it. Most modern ceiling fans are designed with sealed bearings that don’t require oiling. However, some older fans may have oil ports for lubrication. If your fan is older and you hear squeaking or grinding, check the manual or the manufacturer’s website to see if oiling is recommended.

While it may seem like it makes sense to put a fan in the attic to cool it down, it won’t be as effective as installing attic fans. Ventilation installed near the peak of the roof, whether passive (just allowing heat to escape) or active (drawing the air up and out) will be more effective at cooling the attic.

Leaving an exhaust fan on constantly isn’t ideal. While it helps remove moisture and odors, continuous use will lead to wear and tear, higher energy costs, and even fire risks if the motor overheats. Bathroom fans should run for 20 to 30 minutes after a shower, while kitchen exhaust fans should be used only when cooking or clearing air.
