"I purchased a new HVAC system from Cardinal. Everything about the job went as planned, in the amount of time we were promised. The installers were professional and cleaned up the work space very well when they were finished. I would use Cardinal again without hesitation."

"Nick is a direct communicator, returns calls, is an efficient and timely installer, uses e-technology for communication and billing if you like and his pricing is really fair. He provides quality work and is willing to come back if something isn't right, which he did when I suspected a problem with a ceiling fan; that was ultimately a product issue rather than an install problem. Nick knows his products and is willing to make recommendations. I recommended him to a local business that my wife works for and she told me he got the job done and the price was below the estimate. I certainly recommend that you give him a chance to bid on your project(s). I have worked with a number of local electricians and I prefer a smaller business like Nick Electric that appreciates my business. Tell him Jack sent you!"

"We have been satisfied customers of Mother Earth Cleaners for the past four years. We first hired them when we were expecting our first child --- hoping that "outsourcing" housecleaning would make that transition easier. It absolutely did! We have since stayed with Mother Earth through the sale of our old house and the purchase of a new one, and now the birth of our second child. I am a neat freak/ type-A perfectionist whose sense of wellbeing is strongly affected by the order and cleanliness of my personal space, and it has made a HUGE difference to me and my family to have professional cleaners come every two weeks. My husband and I no longer argue about whose turn it is to clean the bathroom, the dust bunnies piling up around the furniture, or crumbs falling on the floor. If you are a working parent and can afford the service, I HIGHLY recommend hiring professional cleaners at least once a month-- it may even save your marriage! ;-) Aside from Mother Earth's attention to detail, great customer service, and eco-friendly cleaning products, we have really appreciated the relationship we've developed with our dedicated cleaning team. Patricia (our team lead) is a kind, hardworking, and generous person in addition to being great at her job, and we regularly check in about each others' kids and lives. It's wonderful to work with a company you trust and individuals you like, and Mother Earth has provided us with both!"

"They were extremely professional. They knew exactly what we were talking about when we said what we wanted and gave us a good price. They didn't come exactly when they said they would, but as soon as they realized they would be late because their prior job was harder than expected, they called ahead. We had plenty of time to reschedule our day. We had them install three fans, including new fan control switches, and all three fans are solidly in place with no glitches. Overall, this was a great experience and I'll probably head straight for them the next time I need electrical work done."

"Adam and Pat do amazing work. They have been doing any work on the house we need for many years now. Most recently they fixed an internal sliding door which came off its tracks as well as installing handrails on the outside steps of our house. We would highly recommend Adam and Pat for any jobs you need completed."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Leaving an exhaust fan on constantly isn’t ideal. While it helps remove moisture and odors, continuous use will lead to wear and tear, higher energy costs, and even fire risks if the motor overheats. Bathroom fans should run for 20 to 30 minutes after a shower, while kitchen exhaust fans should be used only when cooking or clearing air.

You should generally avoid using WD-40 on a ceiling fan. While it might quiet a squeak temporarily, it is primarily an anti-corrosion and water displacement agent, not a true lubricant, and can damage the fan's components over time. Most modern ceiling fans have sealed bearings and do not require oiling, so a squeak may indicate another issue. For fans that do require lubrication, it is better to use a light machine oil, 30-weight motor oil, or a lubricant specifically designed for ceiling fans.

Most duct booster fans are not designed to run continuously, though some models can be programmed for constant operation. Typically, they are controlled by the user via a switch, controls on the unit itself, or by being wired to the HVAC system's thermostat. Wiring the fan to a thermostat allows it to run automatically only when heating or cooling is active, which saves energy and is an effective way to activate the fan only when needed to address issues like uneven room temperatures.

While ceiling fans shouldn’t get loose over time, they still can—especially if they’re installed incorrectly. A wobbling or tilted ceiling fan can shift the screws out of place, causing it to loosen and become a fall risk. It’s important to tighten screws and balance blades as soon as you notice that they’re misaligned or uneven to prevent the ceiling fan from loosening further and becoming a hazard.

There are many types of ceiling fans, each with specific features and advantages. Standard ceiling fans are a traditional choice suitable for most spaces and can be made from materials like plastic, wood, metal, or fiberboard. For rooms with low ceilings, low-profile fans are a better fit. Other specialized types include smart fans, which you can control with a smartphone or voice commands, and dual-motor fans that provide increased airflow in multiple directions. For energy savings, Energy-Star certified fans can be up to 60% more efficient than standard models, helping to lower your utility bill. You can also find fans with built-in lights, fans with retractable blades, and large ceiling fans designed for spacious rooms with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high.
