  Mr. Kreibich came for the estimate appointment within a day and was on time. He was easy to talk to and understood what I wanted to accomplish - mulching three large garden areas. He noted that the ground had sunk along the foundation on the south side of our home, a problem I was aware of but had not addressed. He included the cost of building up that area in our estimate. The estimate arrived by mail a couple of days later and we called to make a few changes. The new estimate arrived two days later. We signed and mailed it. The projected date for the work was three weeks away, but due to wet weather interfering with another job, he was able to complete the job within a week.   I would probably call them to do some maintenance things. I've used them for several years. They're great. I don't even have to call them for lawn care; they just come routinely. They know when to come and they know everything. They have experience in everything they do. You tell them what you want and it's done. You don't have to hold their hand during the process. They might be a little bit more than some other places but they do a complete job. They have all the equipment's. They can get in and out quicker than somebody elseshow more

  We were very satisfied with the overall job. I contacted Cottage Grove Nursery some time in July and within a couple of days Jane (the designer) came out and discussed a new plan. Our overgrown lilac bush and hostas had become unsightly, so we wanted something neater and with low maintenance. I did mention we would like the work done sometime in Sept. On Sept. 10th Mark (the landscaper) and his assistant began work around 8:00. They worked all day completing everything except two of the flagstones which were put in a couple of days later. They did such a wonderful job, no one would be able to tell they had dug up old plants and replaced them. The carmelized rocks we have (which are light) are still clean and don't look like they've been disturbed at all. All old plants were cleaned up and hauled away. Mark was very friendly and professional when he came to the door in the morning. He checked in several times during the day either to let me know they were taking a quick break or grabbing lunch (never gone very long), he also came to the door to explain what he was doing during the day. At the end of the day, he took time to tell me how to care for the plants not only initially, but in the future. I also,asked his professional advice on a couple of existing plants and he was very willing to answer my questions. I did not feel Jane (the designer) tried to sell me more than what I needed. I was very willing to buy more plants, but she felt these 7 new plants would be plenty. Also, we had been quoted for more rock, but Mark said he was pretty sure we didn't need it and we didn't. It all looks great! We ended up paying about $90 less because we didn't need to add rock, however, it had been included in the estimate in case. Jane told me the total might be less when the job was done (which it was), but it wouldn't be more. I appreciated that--no hidden costs! We would definitely use Cottage Grove again.   We had a pallet of bricks, and I told him I wanted 300 bricks. He charged me for 480 bricks. The estimate was 1600 dollars for some driveway work, and he ended up charging me 2000.00 for that work. I called my alderman, and he came over with a police deputy and looked at the work. They tried to get me to pay an extra five hundred bucks for work that I didn’t need and didn’t have done. At the end of the day, he cut me a new bill according to estimate, and I sent him a check for the correct amount. They had done work for me before, and it was spot-on-estimate, and I was very pleased with the work. I was very disappointed about this second experienceshow more

  For the most part, the lawn looks good and the end product (the grass) is good. But the fellow using the weed-wacker up close to my house cause SIGNIFICANT damage to the siding. Pieces of nearly new siding has to be replaced. Not cheap and very aggravating.
