"I thought I heard some unusual sounds when my air conditioner went on.  It was an additional whirring sound.  That is all I can say to describe it. The last time, in 2014, the last time that I had some kind of unusual sounds, I kind of ignored it.   Then I ended up having to have some major work done because it blew the fuse and blew one of the processors, whatever.  It was a fairly expensive repair.  So when I had this particular little sound  going off; I called them and asked them to come look at it.  They responded very quickly; he explained what the sound was.  He said that it really wasn't anything wrong with the air conditioner.  He said the capacitor in there; it looked like it had blown one of the wires, and he showed me.  He said it would still work, but he suggested having it fixed in case of a future issue. I agreed with him. I don't want to have something happen in the middle of a hot summer.  At the same time, because I called him for service, I had him replace the air filter as well."
