"100% positive experience with Kurt. He instantly responded to my service request to replace a water heater and showed up next day 7am on the dot. Honest guy and much more reasonably priced than other plumbers in the area. Definitely will use him for future plumbing projects."

Customers say: Quality work

"Quick and easy. I've used him before because of great service. Already had everything because my other one broke and drained all over the floor. Probably would have been at least 3-4 hours if I was replacing one that broke because of just not functioning."

"Ramon and his team are masters of their craft. We used them to grade and seed our entire yard after construction. They pay attention to the details that matter, they’re efficient, and they do a great job cleaning up after they are done. We could not be happier with Alonso Landscape Service LLC! Thank you!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Central Wisconsin Excavating (CWE) did a fantastic job on our project. They built a solid, well-prepared foundation for our 80,000-bushel grain bin and graded our driveways perfectly to ensure water drains away from our buildings. Their attention to detail, quality of work, and professionalism really stood out. The site was left clean and properly finished, and everything was done right the first time. We’re extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend CWE to anyone needing excavation or site work done right."

"Greenscapes exceeded our expectations during 2016 and 2017 multi-day projects to improve our landscape. When we purchased our new home in 2015 we knew that the very steep hillside needed more ‘repairs’ than we could do ourselves. In Summer 2016 Greenscapes weeded and cleaned-up the entire hillside, then planted many perennials and flowering shrubs in the east and west quadrants of our yard. They pruned old existing bushes in the middle section that we thought, at that time, might be sufficient. In Spring 2017 we realized that the middle section of the hillside does not match the visual quality of the 2016 improvements, so we asked Greenscapes to return. Last week the old shrubs and bushes were removed and replaced with several varieties of attractive plants. The results of both projects are excellent; beyond our expectations. Both crews are respectful, hard-working professionals who we welcome to see again. Special thanks to Josh Cobb for his design skills and leadership during both projects. A few days ago, based on the success of the 2016 and 2017 landscape improvements, we requested Greenscapes to return during 2018 for another project."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Usually it’s fine to leave a toilet clogged overnight, as long as it’s not close to overflowing. In some cases, the extra time may give the clog time to work itself out. For example, if it’s caused by an excess of toilet paper, letting it sit could result in the clog dissolving and you may be able to simply flush it away by the time you wake up.

Only let it sit though if you have more than one toilet in the home.

Professionals use augers, hydrojetting equipment, and cameras for precise clearing and inspection.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

To keep your toilet from clogging, you can use less toilet paper. You can also use a liquid toilet plunger to break up any clogs and keep the toilet drain and pipes clear. When it comes to a clogged toilet, the best route is prevention by using less toilet paper and making sure the mechanisms are all working properly.

If you've discovered a rather frightening buildup of brown and black gunk below your shower cover, you're not alone. The smelly sludge is often a collection of mildew and biofilm. Biofilm comes from the breakdown of soap scum, hair, skin cells, and bacteria that collects during shower time. It's quite common in a humid space and relatively easy to clean with a gentle DIY cleaning solution such as baking soda and vinegar.
