Big job to re-grade property to allow for proper drainage and prevent flooding during the spring thaw. Also installed some underground drainage piping to help drain some hard to reache spots. After a couple spring thaws, everything is working great. I would highly recommend this business and won't hesitate to have them come back for any future work needed.

I can't say enough good things about Nate and his work and responsiveness. He and his crew showed up when they said they would show up. His estimate was reasonable and thorough, and when I made changes along the way, he was able to accommodate.

Great. Nate and his crew were finished in less than a day. About 4 weeks after the work was completed, the grass looks great. In fact, we've cut it 3 times already given all of the rain we've had. Nate also provided a great reference for a tree company to have a tree trimmed in our yard after seeing that he wouldn't be able to do the tree work. His reference was prompt, did good work at a great price.

Great, the yard looks very tidy -- they removed all old leaves and debris and trimmed all of the perennials back.

The project went very well and the end result definitely met my expectations. Our backyard severely slopped towards the back of the house, and we wanted to elevate the yard by having a retaining wall installed. Our budget was limited and Nate worked with us, he suggested options to achieve our goal and stay within budget. Nate attentively lessoned to all my needs and the details of the project were all professionally done. His crew is very professionals and each member wanted to do a good job, they did not take any short cuts. The job took several days to complete and the work site was cleaned up after each day. Based on the job Nate and his crew did for me I would hire him again in a second, and II recommend him without any hesitation.

Nate from Acer was quick to respond to my request for an estimate.
He met me at the property, and listened to what we needed to have done. The job was a single day job, and I was happy to find someone willing to find time to work a smallish job into their schedule during the busy summer season.
His crew arrived on the day promised, and cleaned out several neglected flower beds. They then dug 20 holes in what I would call inhospitable ground (many rocks and old roots), and set the dirt to the side. They then mulched the beds. Later in the week I planted the beds, using my "pre-dug" holes.
It was great to have the holes dug for me- it saved me tons of time and a definite backache. 
We will call Acer in the future, when we have a need for more outside work. Their prices are fair and the service is reliable.

Nate was very responsive and showed professionalism on his work.
He made a few very good suggestions regarding flower bed designs and what needs to be done. Although his estimate was a bit higher than other providers we have contacted, we decided to go with him based on what he showed us.
All turned out very nicely, as all the works were done in prompt and precise ways. 
We're looking forward to the next spring to see how our new flower beds will look with new shapes.

Nate and Acer have done a great job for us. First, we had them do a spring clean up of the garden and yard. We asked them to charge us on an hour to hour basis and this worked out great for us. I felt Nate had good landscaping knowledge/experience and they did a great job with the work. This summer we have had ACER mow our lawn on occasion and we have appreciated Nate adding us to his lawn mowing jobs - sometimes at the last minute. We are happy with the work ACER has done for us.

This was a last-minute decision on my part and it's not like landscapers are waiting around for someone to call at this time of year.  Nonetheless, Acer promptly responded to my initial email inquiry, and after coming by for a look-see at the work, a timely give-and-take email contract was negotiated.  Acer was completely up front about the timing of the work, explaining this was a job they would have to fit in subject to the progress of work already on the schedule and, of course, the weather.
A couple of weeks later, I received an email heads-up they were coming the next day.  They did, and the work was quickly and professionally done including the after-job clean-up.  Real pros.

They did a good job, they showed up when they said they would and they more than met our expectations.  We are proud of our new back yard garden.

Nate listened to all of our wants and needs. Phone calls and emails were responded to quickly. He was willing to make sure everything was done by a certain date even with our last minute change requests. The quality is amazing and the look is perfect for our small yard. Just put our yard and patio to bed for the season. There hasn't been a day that has gone by since Nate finished our patio, fire pit and the surrounding yard that I haven't said a silent thank you for all that he did to make it what it is. Nate is a magician.

I'm not a "regular" customer on a recurring schedule, but Nate is always incredibly responsive and gets back to me when I contact him for intermittent services. His prices are great. He's the only one I call for lawn and leaves cleanup.

The work went extremely well from start to finish.  Nate responded to my initial phone call very quickly and came out to give me an estimate the very next day.  On that day, he was punctual literally to the minute.  He was very friendly and very professional and really knows his stuff.  He didn't even mind having my dogs and crazy cat help with the estimate process!  On his advice I chose to have the lawn sodded rather than trying to grow grass from seed with several dogs barrelling around the yard, and a gigantic tree blocking the sun for a lot of the day.  He provided a fair estimate the next day via email.

We had initially decided to postpone laying the sod for a couple of weeks, because I was going to be out of town and was worried that dealing with everything would be too much for the housesitter.  But then we decided to get the process going earlier, because it was early fall and you never know what might happen with Wisconsin weather!   Nate came out almost immediately with the spray to kill the old lawn and an area of weeds where we had decided to expand the lawn a bit and lay sod.   I was really impressed that he was willing and able to change his plans so quickly to accommodate me, and he answered all of my questions concerning fertilizer and dog safety.  I contacted him on a Monday, he came out on Tuesday, he emailed the estimate Wednesday, and he sprayed the old lawn on Friday.   Pretty impressive!

The following Thursday, Nate came back to rototill the old lawn and put down fertilizer, and then came the next day with a load of sod, which he and another guy laid in one morning.  His initial estimate had been that it would take all day, but it took just over three hours and they were done, and the lawn looked great!   He showed me how to check to be sure that the sod sections were doing well, and that roots were taking hold, and he loaned me quite a bit of hose and two sprinklers and a timer to be sure the sod was watered properly.  He set up the sprinklers and timer and answered follow-up sprinkler questions by email, always within a few hours, and had no problem with my housesitter contacting him if she needed to.

While I was gone on my trip, and generally out of cell phone range, Nate worked with my housesitter to be sure that the sprinklers were running properly and everything was going well.   All in all I really could not be more pleased with the service Nate and Acer Landscaping provided.

I would definitely recommend Nate and Acer Landscaping to anyone looking for a great service in the Madison area.   I didn't take advantage of some of their services, like patios etc., but I am extremely pleased with my new lawn and looking forward to spending a LOT of time in my backyard this spring and summer.  Assuming the snow ever melts, haha.

Nate is great!  We got three estimates, and his was a good deal lower than the others.  He was easy to get hold of, very responsive, and worked within our budget to do what we wanted.  He also had the best ideas among the three landscapers, did all the work in a timely fashion, had a great crew, and has followed up to make sure it's all good.   Super-highly recommend using Acer!

Nate and his team installed a privacy cedar fence in my back yard.  The design and look was custom tailored to fit with work from a previous owner.  It's been a little over a year since the installation and everything has held up beautifully.  I highly recommend their work.
