The work they did was fantastic. Quick fix and a simple solution. The reason they only get 2 stars while unclogging the drain they scratched the heck out of the bottom my toilet and will now have to be replaced:(

Terrific - the tech, Ryan, was great! I told him what I thought I needed done, he agreed. He pulled toilet, inspected line with camera, gave me a verbal and written report of findings. Now I feel confident buying a new toilet and not worrying about needing my tile over slab floor jackhammered up.

Service person made recommendations as to how to prevent this from happening again and was very informative.

Because it was Saturday the price was higher and the wait was longer but overall it was about four hours from the time I first called until they arrived. When I called originally, a woman answered and said she would have to contact the service person (Jay) who was already serving other customers. After 1.25 hours, there had been no contact so I called again, using a different number I got off of the Roto-Rooter website (Jay never did call). This time a man answered and said he would contact the service person (Dan). I got a call back from Dan within 15 minutes. I lucked out because he was on his way to another customer a few miles from me so he fit me in after that one - otherwise I would have had to wait hours longer and may have had to pay overtime fees. The weekend rate was $139/hr. Dan called after he finished up with his other customer to let me know they would arrive soon. After Dan and his colleague, Colton, arrived they got to work quickly and cleared the blocked sewer line in about 30 minutes using an 80-foot snake. They were both very professional and Dan was very good about answering my many questions and sharing his extensive knowledge, including showing me a method to try to clear a future blockage on my own (however it would only work if the blockage was near the end of the pipe as it empties into the holding tank). They also helped clean up the residue left around the basement drain after the clog had been cleared. I was impressed by their knowledge and professionalism and would definitely call them again. Note: The clock starts ticking on the hourly rate from the time they leave the other customer (or office). Also, the $139/hr. is a minimum rate, so even though they finished in about 45 minutes, I still got charged for a full hour (they did share this when I called). Tips: Call as soon as possible, especially on a weekend, to get into the queue quicker and perhaps avoid overtime fees. If you have replaced your old toilets with the new, low-flow toilets, know that they can contribute to blockages because of the reduced flow. You can help ameliorate this problem by flushing the toilets more often (especially ones which may not get used often). Lastly, if you don't get a call back within a reasonable amount of time, call again.

Service representative was professional, clean and friendly. Staff answering telephone were responsive and helpful.

When the washing machine spun out,  a little water came up in the drain in the utility room.  I assumed it was due to roots in the outside line - so called Roto-rooter.  Ryan was here within 1 1/2 hours to take care of the problem.  Based on symptoms he thought it was likely a clogged line in the house. So.. he used his equipment to clean out the line behind the access panel. Since he was already here with his equipment, he also used his equipment to check for roots in the outside line but did not find any.

It went very well. Jay is usually the gentlemen who performs our annual service. Jay is easy to work with. He cleans up after himself. He is quick and efficient. He is always willing to do a little extra.

I called in the morning and they were able to come out the same day.  They had 2 workers working together and it took them about 1.5 hours to determine the cause of the problem and unblock the pipes.  They apologized that it took longer than normal since they found 2 different blockages in 2 different pipes.  They were very friendly and careful about cleaning up everything afterwards.  For the service they performed, I thought the price was very reasonable.

Roto-rooter was able to respond on the same day I called, and they cleared the drain completely even though it was far down and quite stubborn.

He was very professional and answered all my questions. It was very interesting to view what the drain looked like with the camera he put down inside. He left no mess and I will definitely use this company again. I cannot remember his name, however.

Tech arrived on time, quickly assessed the problem with my slow draining Laundry Tubs as lint build-up in the drain pipe. Within 15 minutes that problem was fixed. As there is a one hour minimum, I asked him to run the main Sewer to the street, which he did and found nothing exceptional.

After looking at their reviews on Angie's List, we called the McFarland Roto Rooter to come to do what we thought would be a routine check-up and cleaning of the sewer pipe of the very old house we recently moved into.
A couple gentlemen came on very short notice. (They truly were gentlemen.) At a certain point, it was clear that things were going very poorly.
It would take too long to write the full narrative of what followed. Suffice to say that all was not well with our pipe, as we saw through some tough-to-watch, rather dramatic video footage. But they were able to shepard us through to the point where all now is well. They even went to bat for us with the city, whose engineers clearly respect their expertise. It is very possible that if we had called someone else, our bill would have been many, many times what we ended up paying.
In hindsight, we of course wish that we had had Roto Rooter come check the pipe before we finalized the home purchase. We strongly recommend that anyone considering buying an old house call these folks first!

From the onset, I knew this was going to be a professional and thorough job. Lynn answered the phone and helped me immediately. A technician, Jay, was at my house to clean the drain within 20 minutes. He explained every step of the process and gave me good advice on how to avoid problems in the future. From onset of clog and slow drain to resolution was only 90 minutes. Both Jay and Lynn were friendly and professional. And all of this late on a Friday afternoon in July!

Found office person to be very responsive. Service tech called when he was about 30 minutes away. Very helpful in explaining problem and how to manage.

They certainly made every effort they could. They didn't actually cleaned it out the first time but once we started the other work, we had access to a better port into the drain system and they get a bigger device and cleaned it. Overall, the work went well. They were responsive, we were getting to start the reconstruction and it was the week or so after we had their initial visit that we called and they came right away.

I highly recommend calling Lee's Roto Rooter first and foremost. They know their pipes.
