"From the office staff to the arborist to the guys they snagged/falled the tree, it was all excellent. They were all professional, responsive, timely, and did a great job. The price was reasonable and they responded faster than any other tree company to our request. The arborist asked questions and explained things and we had the report in a day or two. The guys that snagged/falled the tree explained what they were going to do before starting the work. They worked great as a team ensuring everyone and everything was safe and identified exactly where the tree should come down. Great job everyone! Next time I have another job for tree work--from trimming to snagging--I'll definately hire you."

Small jobs welcome

"I needed two stumps removed and this company came to my rescue. They grinned both stumps in less than 30 minutes (even got rid of the roots for me), cleaned the job site, and left. Neil was super professional and responsive and beat any other quote I had for the job. Highly recommend them for your tree service needs."

"Ryan's crew called to let me know they could come by earlier than scheduled, and completed the job quickly and efficiently. I could tell that safety was paramount to their work, especially given that the tree to be removed was between my neighbor's house and mine. I recommend their services to anyone who needs tree servicing, and I plan to use them again if I need their expertise."

"Amazing team. Great service. Super clean and professional. We had many large trees that needed to be trimmed and/or removed in addition to fruit trees that needed to be tended. I can not recommend them highly enough. They went above and beyond to be sure everything was the way we wanted and absorbed several last minute requests. All was done exactly as promised in terms of cost and timeliness."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size.

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.

Whether you grind or dig up and remove your tree stump depends on your landscaping goals. Using a stump grinder leaves the root system in place for it to decompose over time, whereas digging up the tree stump removes the roots and the stump. Overall, stump grinding is a far simpler process since you won’t need to deal with the roots. Stump removal will make your yard look like a demolition site, but you’ll have an easier time replanting in the same place as your former tree.

It depends on the problem, the affected part of the tree, the risk of the pathogen spreading, and the overall health of your tree. Many diseases, fungal infections, and insect infestations can be successfully treated, especially if the issue is only in a few branches. However, if a disease is too widespread, too severe, too easily spread, or in the roots, the tree will likely need to be removed.

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

Not all leaning trees are dangerous, but they can be a hazard as gravity may eventually cause them to fall. A key factor is whether the lean is new or has been present for a long time. Trees that have grown with a lean for years are not typically an immediate danger, but a sudden lean is a cause for concern as it often indicates weakening roots. If a tree is leaning more than 15% from vertical, you should consider having it straightened or transplanted. To be safe, it's always best to hire a professional arborist to inspect any leaning tree to assess the risk and avoid potential accidents.
