"Mark and his guys helped us install a new AC last summer. They arrived on time and did a great job! So when I was looking for someone to do the maintenance of our furnace, I called them. Todd went above and beyond my expectations. He finished the job and even helped fix my hinge. Both Mark and Todd strike me as very genuine people. And I would definitely hire them again!"

"Didn't realize that Smart Electric did HVAC as well, until I got a recommendation. Their quote was the best I'd received, they performed the install within a week of giving us the quote, the Installer/Estimator was knowledgable and helpful, and the installation was performed by an excellent group. I can't imagine we could be happier about our Heat Pump installation!"

"Rob came out to review our existing system and helped us figure out what kind and brand of heat pump would work best with our system. He was very patient and informative, and answered all our questions without any pressure or up-sells (we had quotes from five providers). We signed the contract and payed our deposit in June 2021, but unfortunately global supply chain issues delayed the parts being received. Day & Nite were communicative of the issue and offered several alternatives, including a refund of the deposit. We opted to wait for the parts. It took four months, but the techs (lead by Jeff B) were fantastic and very accommodating in how we wanted piping and wiring routed. We are very pleased with how it's turned out and loved working with a local (and family owned!) company! Our gas water heater is due for replacement soon, and we'll be coming back to Day & Nite for that!"

"Northwest Thermal was wonderful to work with! It can be quite difficult when you?re having HVAC issues through the winter months and you don?t know which way to turn. We reached out to several companies but Northwest Thermal was quick to respond and got us scheduled right away. We worked with Vlad and Mark throughout the process, they were both very knowledgeable in explaining how the system works, and what was causing the problems previously. They kept our home clean with minimal disturbance and got it done quickly! I am now at ease knowing our HVAC has been installed with quality and care, and operating flawlessly. If you need any HVAC service done, don?t hesitate to reach out! But only if you want it done right, by a great team."

"Lifetime Heating and Air Conditioning is the best around! Great competitive pricing. Professional, clean and extremely knowledgeable crew who are able to adapt to issues while keeping the homeowner informed. Our house was built in 1969, with a converted garage turned living room, and a handyman's addition off the master... Not a pretty sight in the attic....These guys didn't skip a beat. the way they adapt and overcome makes me know we chose the right contractor.... The moment I reached out to Dwight, I knew we would be treated like family. They did not disappoint. Our home was not an "easy job". Not to mention, not letting our 5 rescue cats out, to loving our rescue pup like their own...The install crew left our home cleaner each end of shift than I keep my own house. This company will be around for years to come. I cant wait to tell everyone who needs HVAC work, that Lifetime Heating and Air will be your first and last call...…"

"I like the business model working with BelRed. They have a highly qualified consultant arrive to estimate the job. Joe takes a variety of measurements and runs them thru a calculation engine to cross check the exact needs of my house. He was able to show by the current standards that the size of Heat Pump and Furnace required by my house was smaller than was being proposed by other companies. In a single visit he was able to put together an entire bid for the HVAC, plumbing and electrical work. Before each technician arrives the company sends an email with a photo, name and bio of each person expected to arrive at my house. This was a nice added touch and helped my wife feel more comfortable having the workers around the house. Every technician was very polite and considerate. They all worked very hard to make sure the entire experience was positive for my family. They took the time to explain everything they were doing and made adjustments along the way to satisfy my needs. The final product is beautiful and I feel that I can truly trust their work and future maintenance of our system. They were about 10% more expensive than the other 3 companies that I had estimate the project but were open to negotiations on some of the extra work I had them do, I went with them because they built trust in their product from installation to follow thru on maintenance.. I will definitely call them back for the next 2 projects I have planned for next year."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

This is a bit of a trick question. Even though the seasons arrive at the same time every year, the weather doesn’t always behave according to the calendar. So, while it’s fair to say that you can expect to turn on your AC starting in late May or early June, it all depends on the outside temperature and how cool you like to keep your home.

Yes, you can clean AC coils yourself. Just make sure that the power to your AC system is off before you begin. You’ll need some basic tools and supplies, including a soft brush, cloth, screwdriver, and a commercial or homemade cleaning solution. Cleaning your coils will only cost about $10.

NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is not legally required for HVAC technicians in most areas, but hiring a professional with this certification is highly recommended. NATE-certified technicians demonstrated their expertise and proficiency in different types of HVAC systems, offering assurance of quality service. It's a voluntary certification, yet it indicates a commitment to professionalism and ongoing training. Choosing a NATE-certified technician often means you're working with someone who is up-to-date on industry standards and best practices, which can lead to better service, energy efficiency, and long-term cost savings.

Yes, it’s best to turn off an AC unit that’s blowing hot air to prevent system damage and avoid expensive energy bills. If you let the AC continue running, it will put more strain on the condenser coil and compressor. Plus, if the AC is blowing hot air because of a refrigerant leak, it can also lead to a frozen evaporator coil.

Common signs of insufficient return air include uneven temperatures, with some parts of your home feeling hotter or colder than others, and noticeable differences in air pressure between rooms. You might also observe that more air is blowing in rooms closer to the AC unit. Leaky air ducts can also be a related issue or clue.
