"This was an emergency. The hose bib had split open inside the wall of our house, the water had been turned off at the curb, and we were desperate to flush toilets, wash our hands, and make coffee, among other things. They were able to move their schedule around and come by to fix the problem quickly. The repairman was very efficient and effective, and we had water back on within a few hours. The repair was not cheap, but that was, in part, because it involved cutting a hole in the drywall in my closet and purchasing/installing a plate over it when the repair was done. We now have a favorite plumbing company."

"They did a good job. They worked hard for three hours in the rain, digging two feet into the ground to reach the drain and repair everything. It ended up being the sprinkler system connection on the home owner's side of the main that was leaking."

"They were professional and courteous and worked hard to get it clean. It took longer than expected because the previous owners hadn't cleaned the ducts in a long time. But I still got a great deal with the coupon offered on Angie's list."

"Mike did the actual work on our project, and we found him to be very professional and very proficient. Kerry had led us to believe that he would be doing much of the work himself, but he did little. He did accompany his carpenter to install the decking, and we got a poor deck that had to be largely redone. It took Mike an extra day or two to fix it. Then Kerry had a toothache, went out of town, etc, and the job went many days behind schedule. We were not concerned, as the job was in a vacant rental, and no one was relying on that kitchen. One friday afternoon, Kerry and Polly called me and said they were coming by my house in minutes to pick up a check. I asked if they had finished the job, as I had not inspected or approved it, and informed them my husband was out of the country and they could get a check after ins.when he returned on Tuesday. They went ballistic and started to threaten and insult me. SCAREY. Mike fixed some problems and was promtly paid. NOT a rehire."

"We had a faucet replaced by these guys and I was thoroughly impressed! Very friendly yet professional. Installation time was reasonable in my opinion. Faucet looks great too! I would recommend them to a friend in a heartbeat. This was done about a year ago but I'm new to Angie's List but wanted to make sure I put my praise to these guys! The faucet is still holding strong a year later so that's great!
Our landlord was the one who hired them so I'm not sure of the cost.

"Bill from Proficient came out and installed a gas line for a permanently installed home standby generator.  It was a fairly difficult installation and took him longer than he wanted it to but he was firm on his price, which is outstanding.  Many people would have charged more for the work but stood behind his bid and that says a lot about his character.  He is very experienced and it shows in his work.  I would gladly hire Bill again.  The fact that the owner is the one doing the work really makes the company shine, as he has full responsibility for the success of his business.  I try to support small businesses whenever I can and really like working with the owners directly.  I feel that I get better service when working with the owners.  Thank you Bill.  I look forward to working with you again.

"He was on time, even though he has to drive all the way over from Vancouver, which can be a hassle with all the heavy traffic.  And he did a great job.   He's very honest, hard-working, and also very personable.     He also checked a big plumbing problem for me in my kitchen sink.    I'm going to go to Home Depot and buy the faucet that I want, and he's coming over Wed. to install it for me as well as a new soap dispenser.   To show you how honest he is, if I'd had him install the new soap dispenser Monday he would have had to charge me extra, but he recommended that I wait till Wed. when he installs the new faucet, and then there won't be an extra charge for installing the soap dispenser.   I have a very deep kitchen sink, so it's not so easy to install a soap dispenser in there.    I will definitely be calling on him again in the future for plumbing problems, and I highly recommend him.   He has a small business, and I like to support small businesses.

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Whether a pot filler is worth it depends on your cooking habits, budget, and kitchen layout. For avid home cooks who frequently prepare pasta, soups, or stocks, the convenience of filling large pots directly on the stove can be a significant benefit. A pot filler can also add value to a home, attracting potential buyers with its combination of luxury and utility. However, the installation can cost around $800. The return on this investment is highest in larger kitchens where the sink is far from the stove. In smaller kitchens, where the sink is nearby, a pot filler might be perceived as an unnecessary feature by some homeowners or potential buyers.

Yes, it’s necessary to have a sink drain stopper. While your sink will still work without a stopper, a stopper is necessary to keep things other than water from going down into your pipes and potentially clogging them. It prevents plumbing problems by keeping out unwanted debris and objects like hair, soap, toothpaste, dirt, and jewelry.

Pedestal sinks typically come with two pieces: the pedestal (also known as the base or pole) and the sink basin. You may hear it referred to as a standalone sink. The sink sits on top of the pedestal, which attaches to the floor and hides the plumbing. Both pieces usually come in porcelain or ceramic.

Pop-up drains come in various sizes, including 1.25", 1.5" and 1.625". Choose a drain the same size or smaller than the hole in your sink.

Wall-mounted faucets are installed 6 to 8 inches above the countertop. The height you choose is very significant because the wrong choice will lead to a faucet that splashes water everywhere. Your installer should have a good recommendation based on your sink type, size, and shape. A good installer will ensure the sink is comfortable and splash-free.
