"Absolutely atrocious experience with this company. Had issues with our fridge/freezer, so they sent a repairman. We had to defrost the entire unit for 36 hours, so lost all of our groceries. (Loss of groceries are not covered - it's in the fine print.) Fine - we'll get the fridge fixed, right? WRONG. Within a month, the same issue occurred. Sent another repairman from a different company. Had to defrost and lost everything AGAIN. Third time with the SAME issue in the past six months and they want to send ANOTHER repairman from a different company who, wait - you guessed it - needs us to defrost the entire unit AGAIN. With the cost of the plan ($655), each $90 service fee, and loss of groceries, we could've bought a brand new and BETTER fridge. Note: our fridge is still not working properly and we are out nearly $1,000 in Fidelity fees alone. Add in another ~$600 in loss of groceries, and we are nearing $2,000. Fidelity are crooks - plain and simple. They outsource their call center to countries where we can't understand the operators, and when you finally do get a manager on the line, they are extremely rude. We are 100% not renewing our contract with Fidelity. We may have to consider small claims court as well."

"It took a lot of phone tag to finally get the technician to our house, but once here he was efficient and professional and did an amazing job. The chip was in the edge of a white quartz countertop, very difficult to match perfectly, and the repair is absolutely invisible. Not the lowest bid, but worth the price."

"I see there?s no updates on reviews so maybe there?s a different management because none of this jobs with my experience I have a NAD T778 home receiver. NAD uses inner sound for warranty work so I took my receiver there when I was having problems with my receiver. I was told it would be 12 weeks unless I gave them $75 to expedite the repair which I did the good part is NAD was fast in the response in sending replacement parts to repair the the receiver. Then about two months later, my receiver started acting up again. I took it back to them and they again told me it would be 12 weeks which at this time would?ve expired my warranty so again I paid it to be called a couple of days later and said that my receiver is fixed I picked it up was told they put everything back to factory settings and looked for updates which I had already donebefore taking it in at this point I got it home hooked it up, lasted two days and then completely blew up first time went smoothly. Home Warranties questions, answered by experts

Most home warranties exclude aesthetic damage, pre-existing issues, intentional damage, and issues that stem from a lack of proper maintenance. Home warranty companies also have contract terms that can exclude specific types of HVAC systems or certain components of an appliance or home system, so you should read your contract in its entirety to make sure you understand your coverage before signing up.

Most manufacturers’ warranties do not cover wind damage to roof shingles, but some companies include a wind warranty rider in their warranty offer. You can purchase this rider to protect yourself, your wallet, and your roof from any damage that might occur from wind. Be sure to read all the fine print and understand any limitations of the warranty.

The answer is mixed when it comes to whether you can expect your home warranty to cover a shower pan leak. While a home warranty is designed to cover costs for the repair or replacement of appliances and major home systems, most plans don't cover water damage. However, plumbing may be covered. When looking at home warranty versus home insurance, it's helpful to know that most homeowners insurance policies do cover sudden and accidental water damage originating from inside the house.

It’s easy to confuse home warranties with homeowners insurance, but they aren’t the same thing. The key difference is that warranties protect your appliances and systems, but insurance guards your house against disasters like fires and storms. Keep in mind that warranties may not cover repairs if the issue was caused by a DIY job gone wrong.

Several factors make a home warranty worth it or not, especially the age of your home and the condition and age of the appliances in it. If you buy an older home with most or all original appliances, a warranty may be worth the investment as these home features are more likely to need repairs or replacements. However, if you’re buying a new-construction home, a warranty may already be included, and you may not need to use it for several years. In this case, purchasing add-ons may not be worth the cost until a few years later.
