"I have been meaning to send this much sooner than now!  I wanted to say thank you so much for all your assistance and help in getting granite counter-tops for my home.
I have received many, many compliments on the choice of the granite as well as the installation that "shows" the granite off to its very best! This was a daunting task (for me) to go through, so I am grate for everyone's patience and understanding at Solid Surface Solutions.  The two young men who came out to install the granite were very courteous and diligent, and did a great job installing as well as cleaning up after the installation.
This was a very positive experience for me from start to finish thanks to your company and staff, and I will not hesitate to suggest Solid Surface Solutions as the place to go for anyone interested in putting granite counter-tops in their home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"Steph and his guys were the absolute BEST. We had quartz countertops done in our kitchen, and I had already found exactly what I wanted before hiring Prestigious Countertops. Steph not only found exactly what I wanted, but from start to finish they were the best. They showed up when they said they would, they did what we wanted them to do, and went above and beyond in their customer service. I LOVE our finished product!!!! We would hire Prestigious Countertops again for any future needs, and recommend them highly. Canâ  t say enough good things about them!"

"Steven went above and beyond to finish the job at hand. He had to cut out my granite countertop to fit in a new cooktop. There was wood below the stone that was obstructing the installation. He went ahead and took care of that well beyond the job requirement and within the price we agreed upon. I'd without any hesitation recommend him. He's friendly and the communication has been a breeze."

"Adrian and his crew did a great job regrouting the floor, shower floor and shower walls of our bathroom. They also installed a gorgeous mosaic backsplash in both our kitchen and bathroom. They showed up on time, worked hard and got this large amount of work done in 3 days. We needed a little touch up done in a couple spots after the job was completed and Adrian came out and took care of it. They were also reasonably priced. Very happy with the work and highly recommend them!"

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

Concrete countertops usually cost more than granite. The average overall cost to install concrete countertops is $50 to $150 per square foot. Granite countertop costs average between $40 and $50 per square foot. While concrete materials might be cheaper than slabs of granite, the labor costs are considerably higher as it takes more time, specialized equipment and skill to form customized concrete countertops.

No, you should not put a hot pan or pot directly on a quartz countertop. While quartz is generally heat-resistant, the resin binders used in its manufacturing are sensitive to extreme heat from items exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit. This can damage the resin, leading to discoloration, burns, or even cracking. To prevent permanent damage, always use trivets or hot pads for hot cookware.

Yes, you can generally put hot pans directly on a granite countertop without worrying about cracking, as it is a durable, heat-resistant stone that can withstand high temperatures. However, it is still highly recommended to use a trivet or hot pad as a precaution. Prolonged or repeated exposure to high heat can potentially cause discoloration or damage the countertop's sealant, making it more susceptible to staining. Additionally, the heat from a pan can transfer to the granite, creating a burn hazard for anyone who touches the surface shortly after.

Undermount sinks have clips that attach to the countertop, but they have pros and cons. They are heavier than drop-in sinks, so they only work with sturdy countertops like natural stone and are a more expensive option. You might need someone to help you install the sink, depending on its weight.

Cutting stone comes with a number of safety hazards. First and foremost, if you’re not comfortable with the equipment required to cut stone, including blades and grinders, you could easily injure yourself. The heavy machinery also poses a risk to your ears if you don’t wear proper ear protection; similarly, you need to wear eye protection to keep debris from irritating your eyes.

However, the biggest risk from cutting stone comes from the stone dust. When breathed in, stone dust can be a huge hazard to your lungs. Always wear a face mask when cutting stone to prevent inhaling stone dust, and thoroughly clean the work area when you are finished.

To avoid injury, we recommend hiring a stone-cutting professional, rather than attempting this job yourself.
