They worked outdoors when the weather let up but had to leave the chimney covered with a tarp most of that time. They didn't need to access the interior of the house until the chimney was crowned, capped, sealed, washed, and tuckpointed. I only needed to be home during the sweeping operation, which involved removal of two whole industrial wet/dry vac-loads of old soot, moss, and ash.
