Some, like the motion detector, were just placed on a flat surface;ie. fireplace mantle. All worked correctly. The remote door sensors are great;I use them to turn off / on the alarm system before entering or after leaving the house. The control unit besides handling the security system , displays local weather - which is handy."

"Overall I would recommend ACT air duct cleaning.  I live in a 1913 colonial and I doubt this has ever been done in this house.  I did some research on the EPAs website on this service and read a lot about it beforehand.  The team arrived on time and answered all of my questions before they got started.  I was glad I educated myself a little bit beforehand so that I knew what to expect and what questions to ask. 
The process and tools ACT uses to do their job is interesting and seems very thorough.  When reading their website I didn't understand that they were going to cut a hole in one of my air ducts.  My husband would have had a fit if they'd done that, so I told them they would have to come up with a work around for that.  They talked with Jared (owner) and then  figured out a work around.  The team was very polite and kept me informed of the process.  I will say that there is some dust associated with this process.  Meaning that you can get some "blowback" from some of the vents.  They went around with a vacume and cleaned up any mess they found from "blowback".  The team cleaned up very well and left my house as they found it.  I have noticed a big difference with the decrease in dust in my house since this service has been performed.  I'm glad I did this.
