We are a full-service remodeling & home repair contractor that serves King County. Our home repair service starts with a 2-hour minimum for a highly skilled craftsmen at $225. Additional time is invoiced at an hourly rate, plus the cost of materials needed. Shirey Home Pro also offers design-build remodels that handle all aspects of your project, from conception through completion. Our goal is to build the kitchen or bath of your dreams. We are here to be your personal contractor for whatever your home needs - no matter how big or small your project is.

Marvelous, even when we had to return a sink due to a malfunctioning part and begin again with a different sink. We provided the tile, adhesive and grout.

Excellent. They showed us the problem, we was informed about why it occurred and shown their intended solution, both mending and preventing future recurrence. Despite difficulty in supply availability, they have kept working.

I had a handyman come out to screw down some metal railings that had become loose. We were able to work out estimates over email. They suggested replacing the screws with ones that were longer and larger. The estimated time was more than 2, but less than 4. I was working from home and unable to see the final work. It was ok, but not great. One of the railings was pretty solid. The other one was still slightly wobbly because some of the screws were not drilled down all of the way. I assume the handyman ran into issues. I also asked for the bolts to be painted and it was a bit sloppy with excess paint on the railings. I wasn't too terribly concerned until I saw the bill. It was $650 to replace 24 screws. The billed time was 4-hours. Even worse, the material cost somehow came out to $150. I exchanged emails with Shirey Pro, but they never tried explaining the latter. There is no way that 24 screws and a tiny amount of paint could come up to that. This was my first experience with them and I was hoping to use them for other small tasks. However, there is no way I would hire them again. The cost is simply too high and unpredictable.

"We are sorry to hear that you are not fully satisfied with the work and costs. You may recall that we had recommended using both epoxy and screws at the base. When you stated you did not want us to use epoxy, we shared with you that we would then need to use longer screws. Prior to getting supplies, we also discussed how we might not be able to match the paint exactly. You responded that you understood this. We then purchased the materials as discussed and worked to make the railing secure and matched the paint as closely as possible. We understand that price of time and materials can feel high, but we assure you we billed only for what it took to get the job done well."

Some jobs are straightforward and/or cosmetic - this was neither. There was a lot of trenching, boring, back-breaking hand digging, weird connections, and unanticipated additional lines found that had to be dealt with. Kudos to Aaron who didn't flinch at any of the these developments and, literally, just dug right in. The plumber did exceptional work and also with a good attitude. I am very pleased with the results. I would supply a photo, but in this case bare dirt and asphalt with no leaks was the desired outcome!

The Issaquah office was professional and courteous. They understood exactly what I needed. Andre and Victor were the contractors. They were knowledgeable and professional. We have had Shirey for two projects. The first was a few years ago when they fixed a roof leak around our fireplace that a couple of other contractors had already tried to fix and had failed. We have had NO leaks since Shirey worked their magic! The second project was just completed this fall. We have three short sets of stairs between our driveway and the front door and I wanted nice-looking metal railings installed on them. Shirey found a customer railing manufacturer and worked with him to make the railings and then installed them for us. I love that it was one-stop-shopping for us. They look great and now I won’t worry about our friends and family falling as they make their way to our front door!

DO NOT HIRE SHIREY. BEWARE. I sent detailed emails with photos of work I needed done. They came unprepared and then tried to charge me $105 an hour to run around getting supplies that I noted they needed to bring! Tech was NOT SKILLFUL (I have photos of wood he replaced around my dryer vent) NOT EFFICIENT (working at a snail's pace, up and down stairs many times as had "forgotten" many things in his truck (or didn't know what he needed for the job), wandering around looking in my garage in a space that wasn't related to his work at my home) NOT SAFE (didn't bring the taller ladder I had requested so stood on TOP of my 8' ladder. Said "It's not a problem. I do it all the time.") NO INTEGRITY. Tech closed up my crawl space door and said he was "done down there." I know he wasn't expecting a lady to go check the work in the crawl space and when I did, I found out what he had "done down there" - a HACK JOB on trying to replace the rotted dryer vent wood AND he left all the trash from the duct tape, tar paper, rotted wood scraps, etc. Outside dryer vent cap wasn't even screwed into wood. When I asked him, he said he left it like that so I could prime and paint the wood. I asked him to screw it in so I knew it was all good and I would unscrew it when ready to paint. He couldn't screw it in as he cut the hole too big, so there was no wood in which to screw it! He used huge nails (not wood screws) and split/cracked/broke the new wood frame that was cut too big. Horrible carpentry. And he was going to leave it like that had I not asked him about it! There was also over a 1/2" gap on the top or bottom, depending on how you moved the vent. He said he would put some caulk in the gap. I said no, to leave it. That is wasn't done correctly and I wanted it done properly. Not a shoddy job "jury rigged" and filled with caulk. I refused to pay and called Jon the owner and told him why. I requested Jon to come to my home to see the work his Tech did. Jon made an appointment to come out, then called the next day to cancel. He knows he can't stand behind his Tech's work, because he knows it's unprofessional and very bad. He said he wouldn't charge us for the visit and we would not do business again. We were repeat customers but will NEVER hire Shirey again. Shady business owner who does not stand behind his companies work. DO NOT hire them or pay them a dime. A picture is worth a thousand words. I have a bunch but nowhere to post on this review site. I hope others read the MANY other poor reviews of SHIREY and see the truth.

I thought the beams along the edge of the roof needed replacement, that is why I hired them. The service provider came out to look at it and said the just needed to be sanded and re-painted. (He did not do the repainting, but he had a minimum charge, so he did a couple electrical jobs for me to fill the 2 hours. ) I really appreciated the fact that he was honest and did not have me replace the beams when it was not needed.

Randy arrived right on time and evaluated the job to be done. He then returned on a mutually agreed upon date to install vent covers (to keep the birds and insects out). There were 50 vent holes, some 20+ feet high, to be addressed. The items he used for the job exceeded my expectations for what was needed. The job was completed within hours and he did a fantastic job. We would like to engage them again for further work on the roofline and some painting of the eves when the weather moderates a bit further. Throughout the job, the company kept me informed as to what was happening. Snow delayed the start of the project about a week. I thought the price was a bit high, but the work done was superior and we are very happy with the results .

I was quoted around 3.5 hours for the job or around $500. I had a competing quote for $700 from pro.com so I went with Shirey. The pro was helpful and friendly, ended up spending almost 5 hours removing trim, getting replacement trim (though the lumber store didn't have the right trim in stock so alas that was wasted time), and fixing the door. During final testing of the fix realized the pocket track screws were tired and the door came right back off again. I would have preferred having options up front before doing the work, but the company contacted me soon after and offered me a refund for the work. Appreciated their honesty and quick assistance, and they were open to helping rectify the situation.

Shirey sent out a painter to sand and refinish the stairway banister. He did a good job, but I had to ask him to redo it as it was quite rough to the touch. I thought he would have noticed this, so that was disappointing, but the finished product was great.

So this is a continuation of a door measuring and order placement fiasco. I called to ask for a quote on ordering doors, I was told I'd pay for someone to come out, but I could use a portion of that toward future service (I think it was $125 of the $225 total which I was fine with)- though on the last call with the sales manager, I was told this wasn't true at all, and that they didn't train their people to do this. I emailed several times, because I like to have conversations in writing, so that things don't get misunderstood. You have a paper trail. After emailing 3 times with no resolution (no quote that I had asked for, and no complete set of measurements. I received several calls, then an email asking me to call. I told them I couldn't decide if I wanted them to order doors for me without a quote obviously, and I couldn't see how they could place an order with so many measurements missing from my doors (heights, back-sets, hinge thickness)- none of which I ever got. I was told that there must have been a misunderstanding, and there was confusion on who would be ordering the doors, and that is why they didn't respond with a quote? doesn't make sense. Anyway, after all the wasted time, I did receive a full refund for the time it took to do the "measurements" as they obviously were incomplete. Our previous experiences with Shirey had been great, this one not so good. I have to say- the person who came to measure was very professional and polite, and punctual.

Went great! Showed up on time. I did not buy the proper light switch for the fan but we went online and pick out the right one (with his help and then we ran to Lowes and purchased it). He worked on the dish washer when I went out to buy the right switch. Dishwasher would not close and he noticed it was just a warped door so the repair was quick and painless.

Initial call was to check some baseboard in a bath that appeared to have mold on it. He removed the baseboard and we saw that the problem was much bigger than baseboards, and we needed the HOA involved. However, since he was there, I asked him to replace a ceiling fan. And that's all he did, no additional services. Cost $800+. He didn't leave the old fan which he was supposed to do, and charged $40 dump fee. I argued them out of that fee, but they wouldn't adjust anything else.

"Our technician spent the first hour of the appointment investigating and advising the client about the baseboard situation, the best way to resolve and about getting the HOA involved. At that time she asked him to install a ceiling fan, which still needed to be shopped and purchased. He then went to two different places to find the fan and installation materials, Platt and Home Depot. Travel and shopping is billable time. When the tech returned, it took him two-plus hours to install the fan. The client left early in the appointment and didn't clarify what to do with the old fan, so our tech took it to dispose of and charged our minimum dump fee. Client invoice: * Labor 4.5 hrs $470 - Problem & Solution Investigation 1 hr - Shopping 1 hr - Fan Installation 2.5 hrs * Fan and Materials $227.80 * Trip Fee $15 * Plus sales tax The client requested 1.5 hrs be taken off the invoice. We explained to the client the work performed, time spent shopping and installing, and the materials purchased. Based on what the project turned into we felt the price was fair. We did refund the $40 dump fee."

It took a couple of trys to determine the cause of the leak, but no water dripping from the ceiling after yesterday's crazy rain/snow storm! They also noticed a few little issues with my gutters while on the roof and took care of them while up there. They were on time, walked me through what they were doing, and focused on the task at hand. Will be the first place I call when I need a professional to fix something.
