"In 2022, we decided to add a new kitchen and substantially remodel our mid-1960s Edmonds rambler. After reading many on-line reviews and meeting with several contractors we decided to go with Johnson and Sons.....and we are so very happy that we did. From the very start we were impressed with how open, honest and responsive Vic Johnson was, a trend that continued throughout our project. As you might imagine, a significant remodel and addition to a 60-year old home is likely to bring with it surprises and our remodel was no exception. Despite the many challenges encountered, Johnson and Son and their subcontractors readily overcame them. Among the many lessons we learned during our remodel was the value of quality subcontractors. Vic's relationship with his subs in some cases extend more than a decade and the depth of these relationships was reflected by the quality and timeliness of their work. The basement work included new framing/drywall, windows (including a large egress window), plumbing and electrical to support a main living space, new bathroom and new laundry room. We also updated our old forced-air HVAC and water heather to new mini-splits and a tankless water heater. This is our second major project with Ryan and we plan to work with him for many years to come. We worked with him to develop our scope and to answer all questions before signing the contract. He was very helpful in the planning stage and made suggestions for efficiencies, (such as resurfacing the bathtub instead of replacing it). His team showed up as scheduled and the work was completed in a reasonable amount of time.
