" James Mecorney with Cascade Sierra Home Inspections was a complete professional. He even returned my phone call on a Sunday and worked with me to schedule our new construction home inspection on a short time line. He walked me through what to expect, what was covered and what was not. I also knew how much it would cost and how long it would take in advance. We met at 8am and he started off with the exterior before working his way to the inside of the 2600sq ft house. He answered all my questions and pointed out areas that needed to be address with the builder and corrected before my closing. He also crawled under the house, into attic spaces, and tested all the plumbing and appliances as part of the inspection. The whole inspection took about 5 hours and I had a copy of his report in my email before he left. His inspection saved me money and future headaches. I now have piece of mind for my closing and purchase. I would highly recommend his services. "

The Northwest's most experienced firm. Residential and commercial radon testing, mitigation, and system design for homes, schools, businesses. Radon-resistant design for new homes. We have been EPA-certified for over 25 years. Award winning. Radon is not a secondary endeavor for us… it’s all we do.

"Excellent from beginning to end. Very professional outfit from initial visit, quote, scheduling, work, followup. Price was reasonable, work quality went above and beyond, and radon levels dropped well below even the contractual level."

I have 16 years of sales and marketing experience. Whether you're interested in buying and/or selling a home, I have the expertise to help you achieve your goals. I create long-term relationships with my clients by offering first-class service. You receive seamless, seven days a week service with exceptional communication and your transaction will never be assigned to an assistant! I know Oregon! Having lived in Portland for over 25 years, my experiences and knowledge of the area are extraordinary. Maybe it’s my passion for Oregon that carries over to my successful professional life. Whatever the factor, with my high education, including an MBA from Portland State University, numerous real estate designations, my in depth knowledge of Oregon Real Estate and my superior service and strong work ethic have proven to make me a successful broker.

"I feel so grateful that when I asked a couple of neighbors who they would recommend for a real estate agent it was Beverly Moser. I came into Portland from Iowa to take care of my sister-in-law who had terminal cancer. After she passed away, as executor I had to sell the house and again, coming highly recommended, I chose Beverly. It was the best decision I could possibly have imagined. When I interviewed several other relators I knew Beverly was the one for me. She was very personable and made me feel extremely comfortable from the start. I was impressed not only with her knowledge but how authentic and professional she was. I can honestly say I feel I hired the best of the best. She kept me on task on what needed to be done in order to sell the house. I had to get back to Iowa so Beverly was there in Portland to represent me. I could not have been in better hands and for that I will be forever grateful. She was my rock during a difficult time and got the house sold so I could move on with my life. I cannot recommend Beverly enough!!!"

"this is my second review. I am totally confused by this company. If I could add to my first review I would. This is what happened: I contacted them to come out to a rental property to fix a run on toilet. They came out and I was told the toilet was fixed. When I received the bill months later it had been sent through my lawyer of my trust even though I had given them my address, they went online to find the owner of the property etc. So they did not keep a record of my address or phone number that I had given them. (this ties in later). On the bill it said, leaky faucet. I called them and said I wish they had called me when they were AT the property as there is always a fee to just show up - they could have fixed the faucet WHILE they were there. Tony (or Kyle, but I think it was tony) said so sorry and he would go back out and fix it and even throw in the faucet (that he has at the office) to make that up to me. I said well, thank you but will it fit that old sink? He said to email photos of the sink. I did. I then emailed many more times and called many times and never heard back. So I came in to angies list to right my first review. THEN Tony called. He apoligized and told me how many properties they manage well and they wanted to make it up to me. I had by this time ordered the correct faucet so they went out to install it at no charge. They sent a "bill" for $750 (but no charge) and it showed many other items they did for free that were kind of vague to me but I am not a plumber - like teaching the tenants how to use the kitchen faucet without it making a humming noise (I didnt know it did that or why). But I thought ok, good. It's all fixed. Then I emailed them again months later and reported that there was a leak in the basement and I sent photos of the leak of the pipes above the clothes washing machine to be very clear what work needed to be done. Tony wrote me back about what he suspects the leak in the basement is from and an estimate on the cost to clean out that pipe etc - I agreed and CC-ed my new (second floor) tenant so they could work out when to go back out and get access to basement. THEN my new tenant informs me the toilet is leaking. I check in with previous tenant and say, I thought that was fixed? - and I was informed "partly, the plumbers had said they'd come back out with some chain part but never did" - I reported this to Tony and said, while you are there can you also finish up the work on the toilet upstairs. He arranges a time with my tenant. I get the bill and it charges me again $175 to fix the toilet (now third time working in that bathroom and I was charged for the visit and the work twice but whatever, hopefully now the toilet is finally fixed once and for all). THEN i get the bill and it only mentions the toilet repair. No mention of the reason I had emailed tony - about the leak in the basement. I pull up the email to Tony and his response and send it to him and say, what about the lack in the basement?. - AND HIS RESPONSE IS: "The tenant didn’t mention anything and I personally entered your last service call to make sure we didn’t screw up" - I said, scroll down in this very email! He then offered to go back out and check the leak in the basement now. So three trips to fix the toilet. Got other random free stuff and now I have to call them out AGAIN to check the leak in the basement that has been now going for 2 months...What more can i do to be clear? I honestly think they are trying to do a good job but have ZERO office staff and their communication lines in the office and also between the office and the men on the site are terrible. They have no communication with the guys they send out there. I'd LOVE to find a reliable plumber but I don't know how to help them anymore. I literally can't be any clearer. UPDATE: One year later the toilet was not working AGAIN. Some issues. It was never fixed. I called Sutherland Plumbing and Shawn replaced the toilet. UGH."

FAQs for home inspection projects in Battle Ground, WA

It’s important to get a home inspection when buying a home because home inspectors are trained to examine the various aspects of a home to determine that everything is in good condition and find unseen problems that current homeowners need to fix before the home sale takes place. Although home inspections are not legally required, a thorough inspection can help you decide if you want to purchase a home. That’s why it’s essential to keep a home inspection contingency so that you have the option to walk away from the sale if the home inspection reveals expensive issues.

A home inspection typically includes the home inspector conducting a thorough visual examination of essential home structures and mechanical components. Afterward, the inspector will provide a home inspection report that relays descriptions of damage or other findings for the homeowner to review.

Home inspectors will examine the following home areas and features:

  • Plumbing

  • Electrical

  • Foundations

  • Roof

  • Windows and doors

  • Overall condition of interior and exterior

  • HVAC systems

  • Attics

  • Basements or crawl spaces

  • Major built-in appliances

Typically, a licensed and certified local home inspector conducts home inspections. Real estate agents often work closely with trusted home inspectors. Licensing requirements vary from state to state for home inspectors, but they must have local certification and valid insurance. Many licensed home inspectors belong to professional associations like the American Society of Home Inspectors.

Typically, the home buyer pays for the inspection by hiring a home inspector. This method helps you make an informed decision about a home’s condition before purchasing it. Home sellers can also conduct their own home inspection to ensure that they are getting the best price for their home and property.

On average, home inspections cost about $350, ranging from $200 to $500, depending on the home’s size, age, and location, plus any specialty inspections required. Additional cost factors include testing for asbestos or conducting thermal imaging tests to find infestations, checking energy efficiency, and looking for structural or electrical problems. If your home is more than 2,000 square feet, you can expect to pay $400 or more.
