"We had Keith come out and show us how to maintain our saltwater pool. We've never had a pool before. He showed us how to work the various systems, and how to read the test strips and gauges. The cost to repair a hot tub or spa ranges from about $170 to $550, depending on the repairs needed. Some of the most common hot tub repairs include leaks, clogged filters, and tripped GFCI breakers. Don’t DIY electrical repairs on a hot tub, as poorly repaired wiring can make the hot tub a serious electrocution hazard.

Vinegar can be used as an all-purpose cleaner for many things, including hot tub filters. Soaking hot tub filters in vinegar and water for up to 24 hours can remove dirt and oil, and as a bonus, it won’t cause the water to foam after you reinstall it if there’s vinegar left on it. But make sure you still rinse it to remove any debris, dirt, or grime stuck on it.

You can drain a hot tub very quickly by using a submersible pump rather than the hose-sized drain at the bottom exterior of the tub. A pump can move up to 30 gallons per minute, draining your hot tub in no time. Using the regular drain can take up to two hours.

You can and should use a hose to fill a hot tub. There shouldn’t be anything special about the hose other than it shouldn’t be damaged. Kinks or leaks could slow down the filling process. Attach the hose to the nearest spigot and get the water flowing.
