"Needed sewage pump replaced and line opened up. Called several others (Barr, A+,Fremyer, Comstock, Tri County) . None knew or cared what to do. I was told various things, call someone else or just ghosted. Powells took the bull by the horns. "I brought my plumber plus technician to check a leak under the water heater. The communications regarding scheduling were effective; the technician was available promptly, and he was professional. The one star is based on highly insufficient communications regarding the product and services provided. This, in my view, resulted in deception, on the extreme, or at the least, misinformation and significant overcharge. This company is at the very high end of the price point. When you are facing an emergency and don't have time to do comparisons, be aware! I was offered $1500 to replace a small piece of narrow tubing leading to the water-heater; $3000 to add the pressurizer; and $4500 to replace the water heater! I was promised an energy efficient water heater for which I'd be able to take energy rebates or tax rebates. Upon the completion of work, I was given a receipt with one line - heater replacement - and a final charge. I requested and never received a breakdown of charges. The model of water heater that was installed is priced around $1000 on the market (I checked with multiple vendors). The model is HIGHLY energy inefficient (estimated $326 with $330 for annual energy charges for similar models). It is not subject to any energy or tax rebates. The manufacturer itself offers rebates but the plumber never offered me those. The plumber bashed the HomeDepot (6 year old) water heater that we had, but never explained what was the need and why the "commercial grade" water heater was installed in our house. In short, if you are willing pay the triple or quadruple price for speed and niceties, go ahead and use my plumber plus. This was my first and last time dealing with them."
