"Closet Pioneers is a one stop shop for your closet installation or laundry room renovation. Ayca did a remarkable job designing the laundry room renovation project especially with our space constraints. She listened to the customer and made design changes quickly to keep the flow. Once designed the shelving and cabinets were customized in their facility. Next came the expert installer Romani who did a fabulous job installing and adjusting cabinets and shelving to meet some of our last minute changes. Finally, their plumber installed the quality faucet selected by Ayca. Overall the project was finished on time, within budget with excellent quality and workmanship."

"I am a single dad with a small 864 sq ft home. It was a mess as my ex wife did all the cleaning, but I still cooked. I got a quote from anotherncompany for $350, which was out of my budget. I texted Maria and she gave me a quote of $160 and i left the backdoor open for her team. I came home that day and my house was super clean! The couch was moved, they cleaned under the microwave (didnt know your supposed to do that) and the house and floors smelled terrific. The bathroom was white again..wow. Im sure a person that likes to clean could find some negatives but injust needed a clean home for my kid."

Closets questions, answered by experts

The time it takes to build a closet varies widely depending on the project's size, complexity, and level of customization. On average, construction can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

A simple reach-in closet might be completed in less than a day, while a more complex walk-in closet could take one to two days or more. A typical project often falls in the 2-to-5-day range. However, a large, highly customized walk-in closet that requires structural changes, like moving a load-bearing wall, will take significantly longer.

A professional contractor can provide the most accurate time estimate for your specific project. If you are planning a DIY build, it is best to budget additional time.

Bedrooms and living rooms generally cost the least to remodel. Of course, the project price will depend on what you're planning to do to the space and the cost of the materials you choose to incorporate. Prices are typically lower than those of other remodels because major plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work isn't often part of remodeling these rooms.

You can modernize an old-looking closet by just painting it, but beyond that, consider electric elements like recessed or accent lighting. If this is a large and deep closet, you can consider adding an island to the middle or a nice ottoman on a rug. Luxury closets will have even more items, like felt-lined drawers for watches and jewelry, in-wall safes, electronic shoe storage, or a tablet catalog of their items.

Common materials include wood, laminate, and wire. Choose based on durability, style, and budget.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.
