Fresh Cut Landscaping LLC

We have used Fresh-cut Landscaping for over a decade. They do a variety of work for our lawn and backyard. Their team approach works very efficiently. People compliment us about our lawn. They are efficient communicators, provide great service in a timely manner. They have helped a great deal in putting flowering bulbs in our garden - sometimes digging over 200 holes for planting bulbs. This also includes moving shrubs to different location. They do all this with smiling faces. They have also done special landscaping projects in the front and backyard by putting weed cloth over a fairly large area in our backyard and many areas in the front yard, followed by decorative rocks around our deck and created a walking path by placing big and heavy flat stone slabs. Living in a wooded neighborhood needs great care throughout the year. Fresh cut landscaping provides that help: (a) shoveling snow in winters, (b) blowing leaves from the roof tops several times in the fall, (c) blowing huge amounts of leaves from our heavily- wooded front yard followed by clean and efficient removal. I they have been a blessing for our heavy- maintenance wooded home. Thank you indeed to all of you!

I would highly recommend Xtra Care Landscaping. The quality of the materials and the professionalism regarding all the work that was done at my home was excellent. The customer service was great as well. All of the crews that worked at my home were very professional and hard workers. The price point was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use their services again

Mark Haller their lead man is extremely professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They installed French drains and a paver stone curved walkway with a front step. Paco, their foreman, is excellent and their is crew courteous, hardworking, and efficient. Their prices are in the median/competitive range. You will definitely receive excellent value and excellent return for what you pay for without being gauged. We have had absolute confidence in their ability to listen, offer solutions, explain most pro’s & con’s, execute good work, meet deadlines, along with trust worthiness and solid knowledgeability. Highly recommend! For more detail on the two jobs they did for us, read more below about these two project experiences and results. :) 1) French drain installation We trusted them to install a French drain system which we had not realized we needed - at least not until we met with Mark for initial lawn care estimates. Since the drains were installed last Spring (2019), the lawn is lush, thriving and beautiful. If we had gone with either of the two other companies’ lawn assessments, we would have invested in a continued mud pond and no return. 2) Paver Stone walkway The stone walkway installation is beautifully done. We receive compliments from neighbors and family. We give them Mark’s name each time. We are very happy with the workmanship. My only suggestion is that Mark mention ahead to his clients that colored concrete pavers leach calcium giving it a chalky color for 6 months to a year. It was very disappointing - heart sinking for me to see it happening almost immediately after the pavers were laid. The process is called efflorescence. I needed to look it up to figure out the cause. You need to wait a year and then you can safely power wash out the calcium and seal the stones into the intended rich colors. I followed up and Mark was helpful and confirmed it was efflorescence. He said customers ask about the chalkiness all the time. I do not feel that the omission is purposeful, but it may be an assumption that I’d know or that the stone company would mention it. I recommended Mark tell clients at the onset before they visit the stone store. Concrete pavers are less expensive, but I may have invested in a different kind of paver knowing that issue ahead. I was not given an opportunity to make that decision. Alas, the stones will get treated by us this October and hopefully I see the rich colors that for now, only show after a rainfall. I will update this review when we treat the pavers

They did an excellent job over two days. Mark, the person in charge, was knowledgeable and pleasant and made good suggestions for some difficult places in the garden. They are not the cheapest landscaping company but worth the money. I would recommend them.

It has gone very well the past six months, including both routine projects and some improvements to drainage and other projects. They have a rigorous fertilization program, which is already paying off in a nicer lawn.

We had a problem with the grading on our property. From a small patio area at the back door the property slopes slightly uphill towards our neighbor's yard. During moderate to heavy rains, water collected at the door and would overflow the threshold into the living room. The first time this happened we slowed the water flow with towels as I ran out to buy a small sump pump and hose. I dug a hole at the corner of the patio deep and wide enough for the sump to function, connected the hose to it and ran it to the low side of the house. This worked well enough but it was unsightly and I was concerned about what would happen if the power failed during a storm. We contemplated re-grading the yard, but this proved unworkable due to the layout of the property in relation to my neighbors at the back and side. I finally called a couple of landscaping companies. The first company gave me an estimate of over $16,000 which I could not begin to afford. We never heard back from the second company after he did the evaluation. I then called Independence Landscape & Lawn Care. Mark came out and we discussed what I needed and various solutions. He took some measurements and provided a rough estimate. A few days later he emailed me a formal estimate for $3636.00. The project entailed installing 2 catch basins with French drain pipe, connecting the two downspouts to the French drain and feeding that into a four inch pipe terminating in a pop-up diverter at the low end of the property. Additionally they would clear the foliage from under the deck, re-grade the slope to direct the water away from the house and toward the drain system after which they would install landscape fabric and river rock. Disturbed areas would be reseeded. I authorized the work and paid the 1/3 deposit as agreed upon. The company arranged for Miss Utility to come out and mark the underground utilities. Even after notifying them that Miss Utility had completed their task, I never received a project start date and had to email Mark to arrange one. My view is that I should not have had to do this. As the company knows its schedule they should have contacted me about a date upon notification that the utilities were marked. The crew arrived on the agreed date and went to work straightaway. They first cleared under the deck doing a nice edging around the perimeter. Then because they were working near the natural gas line, by hand they cut the trench from under the deck to the other end of the house. They installed the two 12? x 12? catch basins, the french drain pipe and connected the downspouts at either end of the house to the french drain. Following the slope of the property, they continued the trench to the low point of the yard where the pop-up diverter was installed. The trench was recovered and the disturbed areas re-seeded with grass/fertilizer mix. The project was completed in a day and a half. In a little over a week the grass started coming in and is spreading quite nicely. About 2 weeks following the jobs completion we had rather heavy downpour and I was very pleased to see the drain working as designed. I would definitely call again on the services of Independence Landscape & Lawn Care should I need it

Mark and his team laid the sod in July. Despite watering and care it was just too hot and parts of the sod didn't survive. Mark promised to return in October and replace any sod that didn't put down roots. He was absolutely true to his word. He replaced all the unproductive sod and aerated and over seeded the rest. My lawn looks great and the drainage is so much better. Best of all Mark is an upfront, honest, and ethical professional. I plan on using Independence for all my lawn care from now on

We take pride in delivering the best possible customer service in the pest control industry. While we are clearly in the pest control industry what we really provide is customer service. We absolutely go out of our way for our customers. I take it personally. My entire family got Lyme disease in our backyard, that’s why we started the company. Patrick Durkin got West Nile Virus and almost died. This is more than just a business for us. While we might not be perfect, we sure strive for perfect..

"I am very pleased with the work from Elijah, his team led by Victor, and Cassella Landscaping. I hired them to replaced old rotting timbers of the wood trim of the yard of my townhouse. I have never hired a hardscaping contractor and most photos from others are of stone work. After emailing a few contractors, Elijah was very prompt to respond but I ended up going with a different contractor because our schedules lined up sooner. This ended up being a disaster - we ended up having the first contractor pull up the poorly laid timbers so we could start over from scratch.
I ended up reaching out to Elijah again, and he was so professional and courteous. He answered all my questions, gave me multiple quotes, and was flexible with the price after our neighbors decided they did not want us replacing the timbers that were on their property line. Elijah worked us into their schedule promptly, and his crew paid great attention to detail, even offering to fill in the gap in our driveway left by installing the timbers straight with asphalt! His crew led by Victor was very communicative, checking in with me in the middle of the project to make sure I was satisfied before proceeding further. One issue I had with the first contractor I worked with was he cut awkwardly small pieces of wood to save on buying more wood. Victor cut nice long piece - and even went out to buy another plank of wood in the middle of the project to make sure it looked nice. They definitely do not cut corners! The price they quoted was higher than the first contractor, but I felt it was reasonable, and they definitely are worth it, especially given how professional and responsive they were to work with, and their expertise and attention to detail during the installation. Overall, I can't recommend them enough! I will definitely be reaching out to them again if any other projects come up!

"Chuck got back to me a few minutes after I left a message and set up an appointment to come by two days later. He arrived on time and spent half an hour discussing the problem with me. Chuck said that the trees were most likely dying of old age and from being in less than ideal soil, and that there was no sign of disease or infestation. When I asked if there was anything we needed to do to help the remaining trees he answered that treatments wouldn't be helpful and that he didn't want to charge me for something he knew would not help. Chuck was knowledgeable, honest, answered all my questions patiently, and didn't charge anything even when I offered to pay him for his time.
