TruGreen Lawn Care - 5730

The first 6-7 years of treatment and service was great. The last 3 years or so the quality of treatments has continuously gotten worse. It’s now a lawn covered with weeds that they initially try to camouflage with fertilization to green up the grass. Several treatments later or was it really treated?, the lawn is covered in weeds. Such a rip off for a lawn that has been consistently treated year after year. Looking at their reviews apparently management has been instructing technicians to alter the quality of treatments as this seems to be observed by previous customers. Canceled future services.

The prices could be better. The communications are tough, you have to call into a call center and not directly with the technicians.

It turned out just fine. They come out regularly. We pay them at the beginning of the year. I think they do a good job.

It was good. If a friend would ask me, I would tell them to just be mindful of their price because they keep on adding on.

My husband was taking care of that and he seemed very pleased. If he didn't like it, he wouldn't have gone back to them.

They come out about once a month and do things. I pay by the year. I do my own mowing, edging and things like that. I've been with them for several years and I will stay with them. I do the mowing and they help me keep the grass green. They are nice.

It's been the same price each year. I think they did a better the first year we've used them.

We prepay for the year because we get a discount. They are responsive and do a great overall job. Sometimes they need to come out in between services for additional trouble areas. Overall, the lawn looks pretty good. It just takes time, I think. They're reseeding this year. It wasn't quite as good as it was last year. There are still some bare spots.

The service was very good. They are very courteous. They always knock on the door to let you know what they are going to do and they leave a note when they are done. The weed control was not as good as I hoped.

Weeds were never brought under control, although we contacted them on numerous occasions to tell them what they were doing was not killing the weeds. They just got worse over the summer. Did not always come when scheduled.

The 3 years it was Scotts, everything went well. After the merger in 2016, results were dismal. They missed the 1st 2 applications of 2016 - the result was out of control crab grass and weeds. I dropped the plan service when large portions of the azaleas dies right after each treatment. I discussed the issues with management and they agreed to do the annual aeration and seeding in Sept - they gave me a date (with 2 robo calls verifying the service was to be provided) and were no shows. I inquired and they could not tell me when the service would be done. I talked with numerous reps (at several levels of the company) until it was finally done. Results for 2016 were dismal, getting support form them was very frustrating. I have cancelled my service and will move to another provider.

Honestly, at first time I thought it was going to be great, the guy called me up and said listen I'l do this and this, so I said yeah let's do it, I signed up with them thinking it was going to go great. They had to come out for free before you really know what's up, a month later, I noticed they were not treating my backyard, and barely treating my front yard to be honest, it got worse. The first time I tried to call in, I've had this problem about them, it took them days to get a hold of someone, like oh my goodness.

The sales man who initially signed me up was a liar. He said that he was going to do my whole yard, for the first of the three or four services, they only get my frontyard, so I basically thought the guy is like cheating, I was like hey look, you guys arent even doing my backyard, you're supposed to do my whole yard, so they are like no, it says here we're just going to do the frontyard, I said no, that's a lie. First of all, it's supposed to be the whole yard, the 10,000 sq ft as advertised and my frontyard is only about 3,000 sq ft so you guys should be in my whole yard. Well they came out and started doing the back, but to be honest, when I said they did the bare minimum, that's what they do, they did the bare minimum. They're supposed to come out and do the aeration, I mean I barely saw any plug, you know how they have a little poker, and poke holes in your lots, they did that like the worst think I've ever seen, like it was barely completed at all, they showed up and did it, but it's bare minimum, same thing with the treatments, it's just a terrible service. The customer service is horrible, you need to talk with someone there, goodluck if trying to get a hold of your local guy, they have 800 members so you can always talk to someone, but when it comes to your particular issue, they'll say okay well, we'll have the manager call you or we'll have the salesman call you, they don't ever call. So it's impossible to get in touch with them if you have an issue, the service is terrible, they're not even an honest people. Don't use them, they're terrible

They are disappointing, they said they are going to be here they are not and the lawn I don't think they fertilize the way you paying them to fertilize I do it annual with them for few years and every time I have to call to tell them listen this is wrong this wrong I mean I'm tired let us said  why don't you do job first place I don't need to keep watching you and now I had some tree problem and I get somebody to look at it and then he told me even your grass need some fertilization how long as it's been since you fertilize it and I said trust me I fertilize I have a company that does it every year.

They're good. They've been doing it for 3 years and they clean my yard. I have no complaints.

Having done business with another lawn care professional, I now realize the poor coverage I received from TruGreen. I continued them from a prior property.  I usually did not witness the application. I was often unhappy withthe weed killer coverage, because I could tell where they applied it as the weeds did reract appropriately almost immediately in those areas. They did come out to retreat, but their policy required a waiting period of several weeks, which left me almost to the next treatment period.
   The show-stopper was when I was preparing my yard from my son's outdoor wedding.  I called three time, but could never reach anyone who could schedule an additional treatment/service or get a call back.  This was several weeks before the wedding.  Afterwards, I cancelled.  That provoked a flurry of calls asking why I quit.  Nothing could have been more provocative!

They were supposed to treat backyard, but they treated the front. They didn't inform me they were there. They left a sticker on my door and still charged me for the service even though it was their mistake. They offered nothing extra to make it better.
