Arrived on time and went straight to work. Very careful about landscaping and plants. Went over when done. Would hire again.

Timely project communications. Fast removal of old wood. The carpenter sanded away the dark spots under the removed flower boxes so a darker stain was not necessary. The deck looks modernized and great!

Grier, the manager, was incredibly patient and knowledgeable with my request. He and his team pressure washed my deck and restained it. He also helped fixed my storm door, which I’m super grateful for. I would recommend them to a friend.

I used Angi to find a company to Power Wash the siding on a house in Burke VA. One of the companies to bid on the work was American Powerclean. They provide a quote that was more competitively priced than the other quotes I received. I called and spoke with the owner, Mr. Grier Melick. He discussed the project with me and offered me a discount to Powerwash all of the siding on the house. I agreed and accepted the quote. The work was done professionally, without me needing to be present. The crew did an Excellent job! They got all of the siding clean and they also power washed the walkways and front stoop too! I am very pleased with the work and the price, and I would recommend there services to others!

We are very pleased with the power washing. Mr. Guthrie is a gentleman and extremely professional. He accommodated us at a very short notice and his employees did an excellent job. We will hire this company again without any hesitation.

I have a 10' x 12' elevated wood deck on the back of my townhouse. It needed washing and staining, and it needed some structural repairs to deal with a railing that was pulling away from the rest of the deck. I had used American Powerclean years ago, and their many positive reviews led me to them again. Philip Guthrie came to the house and recommended some joist-hangers and corner-braces to fix the structural issues. Several days later a two-man team came to the house to power-wash the deck. Then a few days later another two-man team arrived to do the repairs and staining. The price was $725, which seems quite good to me (I didn't get any other estimates). I'd gladly hire American Powerclean again.

Overall, the experience was excellent. The estimate was done in a timely manner. The work started as planned, although there was a change to the duration of the job and number of workers employed. At the completion, the deck looks nice -- better than it ever has. The choice of lighter stain for the deck makes a big difference overall. The power washing of the rear cabinets and subsequent staining has returned them to a much better condition. The front door re-finishing is done. My wife pointed out that the lower portion is still rough. It probably should have been sanded more before the final coat.of spar urethane. All considered, we are pleased with the work and would certainly recommend this firm.

The owner arrived at schedule time to discuss and estimate the job. A crew of 2 arrived about 3 days after I approved the estimate to powerwash the vinyl siding and deck. A few days later, another crew of 2 stained the deck and painting a wrought iron railing. Overall, very professional and efficient and the result was neatly done and thorough.

My 28 year old deck was badly in need of some attention. I thought I might have to dismantle it and think about building a new one. I contacted American PowerClean LLC upon the recommendation of a neighbor and the process was seamless from start to finish! The owner stated I could get a few more years out of my deck and provided an estimate for shoring up the railings as well as pressure washing and painting both the deck and fence. Initially, he stated that we were looking at two weeks out to schedule the project. To my delight, the project ended up being scheduled a day or two after our initial meeting and took approximately two days to complete! The owner, my pressure washing crew and my painting crew did amazing work! They demonstrated a work ethic of 110%, were very attentive to detail and left the work area in better shape than they found it! I experienced exemplary customer service from all of them and the end result was a deck that looks like new!!! I love it and my neighbors have complimented me on how beautiful everything looks! I highly recommended American PowerClean LLC and would hire them again without hesitation!

It went great, Phillip came and did an estimate and discovered that I had two rotted posts. They did the power washing of the house and deck and then the sealing of the deck and repair of the posts and it looks great

The cleaning was fine but they used such a forceful stream of water that some of the screens on my Back porch are coming loose. They also sprayed ceilings and walls and that caused a bit of problems too .

We hired American Power Clean to clean our house siding, shed, concrete walkway, driveway, wood stairs (with railings) and small wood retaining wall. We also contracted for sealing/staining of the last two. We couldn't be happier with the results! Beautiful! Philip is very responsive and friendly. He was flexible with price in return for our flexibility with timing. We did need a return visit because there were a few spots on our 15-yr-old wood steps where wood was nicked from excess pressure. Philip's crew re-washed, sanded, and re-stained the entire 3-step structure - no questions asked. If we were not moving out of the area we would definitely be repeat customers.

Beware hiring this company. Below is the nasty response from the company’s new owner. Feel free to read the entire explanation below of how the company failed to do a proper job. I bought the assets of the company--not the company, not its liabilities. Post what you want, and **** off. I want you to replace and re-stain all 13 of them with the proper, pressurized wood and matching wood chip color. On all my original proposals, not one company told me that my deck would require “non-standard” wood to replace. In addition, I talked to Home Depot and they said my size is a standard size. I am attaching photos of my deck that clearly show issues. If you choose not to honor your company’s satisfaction guarantee, I plan to take your company to small claims court and post the following review below on Angie’s List, Home Advisor, and Yelp. Sandra Carroll My post will be: American Powerclean, LLC of McLean, VA, has sadly gone downhill. Under old management, in the late fall 2018, I had my deck power washed,13 “pressure-treated” boards replaced by screwing them in, and then stained. Unfortunately, the company did a horrible job on the board replacement. The boards used were smaller, thinner and nailed in. Plus the stain was incomplete. When I complained, former management came back to replace, screw in and then re-stain the new boards. I left on a long vacation. This spring I discovered some of the boards are sagging and curling up, which is a hazard in walking on the deck. In addition the wood was not pressure treated, since sap was coming out due to the heat. The “new” boards are indeed smaller and thinner. Maybe old management knew they were selling the company and did not care. The new manager, Philip, came out and I showed him the problem in the spring. He said he would fix three of the worst boards, but later in the year when he was not busy. It’s now fall, and when I inquired when he was coming, he then said he would only fix one board. My friend was visiting and heard his original promise to fix three boards. Frankly, I feel he should have offered to replace all 13 boards. Because of this I can no longer recommend this company. I used them once before and rated them highly with Angies List, but no longer. Here is the new manager’s recent response to me: I had agreed to replace one board, and took measurements of it. I have it in my notes and remember it clearly. I agreed to that with reservations because there is nothing wrong with the board, except that it is a standard width and lacks the custom fitting that you evidently expected. If you had problems with quarter-inch gaps, the time to have raised them was during the installation, not after the staining, and not a year later. Now that you've raised your demands from one to (at least) three boards, you've made it easy for me to say no. The crew did a great job all around. The crew showed up / left as scheduled and all work was performed within an agreed amount of time. Phillip was easy to work with and was honest / responsive throughout. I would definitetly use them again.

Picking a Power Washing company is not as easy as it seams. Almost all the companies have a score of "A". So Not only did I read some reviews, but I read the companies Bio or Mission Statement. American Powerclean stood out to me because they addressed their experience with Trex Deck, which is what I have. Philip Guthrie, the owner was very easy to talk to over the phone. I told him what kind of deck I had and that I had a vinyl trellis that as part of the deck needed cleaning. He did no need to come to my house to measure my deck. He used Satellite pictures to obtain my deck size and proved and estimate. I received his estimate with in a day. WE set a day for the effort and he told me the technician would be there late morning. I received a call from the technician that he was on his way on that morning. I appreciate the call ahead. The young man was quite but professional. He wore wader paints and he got to it. He did a great job. I was very pleased with the results. I would use American Powerclean again.
