"Michael did a great job of mounting our TV above our fireplace, to include creating a new outlet. He provided a full motion mount at a cost way more reasonable than a similar mount at Best Buy, saving us money. He measured the area above the mantle to ensure a precise mounting--perfectly centered above the mantle. Michael cleaned up after his work and was pleasant to talk to and do business with. I would definitely reach out to him for our future TV mounting needs. The only qualm I had was that the communication prior to the installation date could've been better as I like to be very clear on the terms in advance. However, he was very cordial and flexible on the day of, so there ended up being no issues."

Customers say: Quick response

"Alan is truly the BEST at Home Theater installation or anything audio you would need. He does not try to sell you things you do not need but wants to make things work with ease. He takes time to explain what will work for you and he does not charge for every single minute as some do. We love the Sonos he recommended and he proves his prices Are fair and honest. He wears a face covering during the pandemic and we wish we knew about him earlier. Do not hesitate to use his services but know that he is quite busy because he is just that fantastic! We are very glad Home Advisor put us in touch with him!"

Tv Mount Install questions, answered by experts

It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Studs are much stronger than drywall and quite a bit stronger than drywall anchors but, if you can’t find the studs or there simply aren’t any where you need them, you can use drywall anchors. It’s extremely important to make sure the anchors are rated for the load of the TV. We recommend using anchors that are rated far beyond the weight of whatever you’re hanging. Our suggestion is metal drywall toggle anchors.

Mounting a TV to a brick wall can be safe and secure if done correctly. However, it requires proper installation to ensure the TV is firmly attached and won't pose a risk of falling. Guarantee your television is safely secured by checking the manufacturer's weight limits of your TV mount and wall anchors. Examine the condition and quality of the brick wall to ensure it is capable of sustaining the TV.

Yes, they assess space and TV size to recommend appropriate mounting solutions.

If you don’t have studs in the area where you want to install your TV mount, you may still be able to install a TV mount on drywall. The easiest way to install a mount on drywall is by using drywall anchors—but not just any plastic anchors. Choose molly bolts or toggle anchors, which have a weight capacity of around 50 pounds. For added support, consider pairing drywall anchors with a wall mounting plate. Extra heavy TVs may need to be mounted via the ceiling joists or beams.

In most cases, you should not put a TV on a fireplace mantel. The minimum width required to put a TV safely on a shelf or mantel is 10 inches, but pre-made mantels are usually too shallow, averaging at only seven inches deep. If you do choose to place a TV above a mantel, it should be mounted to the wall. However, do so cautiously as heat radiating from the fireplace could potentially cause damage to electronics.
