"It was a superb experience. From the visit by Bruce the sales representative to the installation day to the follow-up from Petro, every single person we interacted with was helpful and professional. When Bruce arrived to do the assessment, we spent time going over the heating needs in the house. After a thorough inspection and measurement of the house, we sat down. He showed me a few options, all of which were going to provide good service. I ordered a unit at the end of that meeting. The installation day was just terrific- the entire work crew that showed up were everything I would hope to find: Upbeat, informative, hard-working, focused. The job was finished before end of day as promised. The heater room is now immaculate, with new piping and a new heater. It was like watching a pit crew at a NASCAR race. Everyone had their tasks, they moved carefully but quickly. The materials were all laid out in order, etc. Just a totally professional approach to their work. The crew boss answered any questions I had. The follow-up for a normal inspection of the furnace chimney was scheduled the day after the installation. I’ve gotten calls to insure we are satisfied with the work. Satisfied barely covers it- I am pleased to write this kind of review. "Briggs Heating and Cooling has been our go to provider since we renovated our home in 2005. They are experienced, supremely responsive and personable professionals who truly care about their customers. They go out of their way to get it right. We have trusted them so much that we introduced them to my elderly parents’ home years ago. My parents have adopted them ever since. We have had several projects this year alone, some routine maintenance, some much more complicated. Each project was handled the same way. First, my parents have an old AC and “Trevor’s guys” come out every year to service it. Their gas heater required a new switch which, because it was an old unit, took a lot of effort to find and replace. Next, our newer AC had a valve malfunction, and Briggs’ went way out of their way to properly diagnose the problem. As a precaution, we received a second opinion. Not only did Briggs’ diagnose the problem properly, they fixed it at about a quarter of the cost that the other service provider would have charged. Most recently, a couple of weeks ago, a leak was detected in my parents’ newly installed gas fireplace logs which Briggs had not installed. They met me at my parents’s home within an hour and had it repaired in another hour. And their prices are always extremely reasonable. This is small business done right. In northern Virginia, they are a breath of fresh air."

"Contacted Total Comfort as soon as we realized our unit had stopped blowing cold. Unfortunately it was in the evening and after hours (isn't that always the way). Received a call back from an on-call technician within just a few minutes. I explained what was going on and he was more than willing to jump in is truck and head over but was very straight forward and explained that he could diagnose but there was always a possibility he may not have the parts needed that night. I hadn't considered that and was appreciative of his candor. Thunder storm rolling (thankfully) so I knew the temps were going to drop for the evening and told the tech I'd push the service call until the next day. He asked that I contact the office first thing to get on the schedule. Next morning I received a call from Total Comfort before I could call them and they scheduled a tech to come out between 1pm and 4pm that afternoon. A little before 1pm, the tech "Alex R" called to let us know he was on his way. Yes, that's correct. They set a service window between 1pm and 4pm and they actually showed up at the beginning of the quoted service window not and hour or two after it (which seems more the norm for service contractors). Skipping ahead to the most important part... Alex was awesome. Not just punctual but extremely polite, knowledgeable and efficient. He diagnosed the problem, offered the solution, answered our questions, asked for authorization before proceeding and didn't try to up-sell. That's the support a homeowner expects. "Matt and his crew were on time, professional and on time. We first called a big name company that you may see on the back of a truck. Well that company quoted us $10,000-$15,000 for less work; at that point it was ONLY the furnace. I called Matt for a second opinion. Obviously, he quoted me for half the price of the back of the truck company WITH the water heater added in. Total work done: replaced furnace and outside unit, replaced water heater, installed water pump, installed 2 EcoBee thermostats. The big name company was ONLY doing the furnace and outside unit. We will call Matt for our future needs."
