"The owner (Chapman) and crew member were punctual, professional and courteous. I was quoted a price and time it would take to install and setup my security system. The agreed quoted price did not changed and everything was completed within the time frame allowed. They also showed me the best angles to install my cameras in order to have maximum view of my residence. I had previously purchased my security camera system. Outstanding work. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone."

"Dave Smith was AWESOME! Very knowledgeable and patient. We added new items to our order at the 12th hour and he came back twice to make sure that everything was completed as we desired. We also had Alarm Protection Group secure our office. Dave Smith and Co. make the process very easy-Highly recommended."

"This was an intricate work area, behind Dominion power meters that required advanced planning, coordination and a timeline of one day.  Gary came out during the quotation process and was knowledgeable, understanding, and very prompt with his estimate.  His great reviews here on Angie's list are very warranted, I felt very comfortable awarding him the job and am very glad I did.  He and his crew (Ervin and Franz) were great, very nice and very professional, a real pleasure to work with.   After watching too many episodes of Holmes on Holmes I can be a bit of an overkiller when it comes to making something right and they were on the same page, and very patient with me.  If you want it done right Gary is your guy.  Always get multiple quotes for a job but make sure Gary and Reo-Servicepro are at the top of your call list.
Thanks Gary, Ervin, and Franz!

"Jim the Handyman is fantastic! We recently had several small repairs done (we waited to bundle them into one job to make it easier for everyone). The crew they sent out did all of them in less time than I expected, and for less than half of what I expected to pay. The work was top notch (something we've seen in the other things they've done for us) and we are very pleased. In fact, I have to call them to schedule some other work. Jim the Handyman should be your go-to provider for anything you need done."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

If your key breaks in a lock, first remain calm and avoid forcing the broken piece further in. You may be able to remove it yourself if a portion of the key is still protruding from the lock. To aid removal, lubricate the keyhole with a graphite-based spray. Then, try using tools like pliers, tweezers, a bobby pin, or even a jigsaw blade to gently grasp and pull the broken piece out. If these methods don't work, you can't reach the key, or you're concerned about damaging the lock, it's best to call a professional locksmith for assistance.

Rekeying door locks yourself costs a fraction of what you would expect to pay a locksmith. On average, it costs between $50 to $100 to hire a local locksmith to rekey your house, though labor costs may vary based on where you live. For a DIY solution, you can expect to spend $11 to $25 on a rekeying kit.

It’s possible, but depends on the design of your lock. Some door locks that lack a keyhole do boast a small hole on the exterior handle or knob. This hole’s primary function is to allow water to drain out of the lock, in addition to giving homeowners an easy spot to insert lubrication. However, you can typically use a paperclip in this pinhole to unlock the door by manipulating the mechanism inside.

Over time, latch components may wear out or get grimy, leading to this problem. First, check for dirt, dust, or debris in the latch mechanism to ensure smooth operation. Use an aerosol duster and lubricant to clean and loosen. You may also need to tighten the screws in the component, adjust the strike plate, or replace the lock. If none of these steps resolve the problem, consult a professional locksmith.

Most jobs take 30 minutes to 2 hours, but high-security systems or multiple lock installations may require additional time.
