"It went well. The locksmith arrived on time, was respectful, and showed expertise in the job. He made some helpful suggestions that simplified the work. I would recommend this firm for locksmith services and I would consider using them for handyman services."

"Zee was great to work with for our service call. He arrived quickly and replaced the key cylinder mechanism on a very old rusted entry lock. He resolved the problem within 30 minutes. I’m extremely happy with his service and his price was very reasonable. I would definitely call him again for locksmith services."

"Due to a burglary at my home, we decided to improve security by replacing the locks (the burglar stole a spare set of keys) and adding security doors. Due to an ex-husband with locksmith training that we don't want to get into the home, we decided to go with top-of-the-line high security locks that are extremely difficult to pick rather than average security locks. These locks cost considerably more than the ones most people use on their homes so don't let the price I quoted put you off. They also carry many standard locks at much more affordable prices.
About a month ago, the locks were replaced and we were shown how to use them. We got all the locks keyed to a single key so I no longer need to carry a wad of 6 keys (2 for each exterior door).
On the date they installed the locks they also measured for the security doors which have to be manufactured to fit the existing doors. Since our house was built in the 1950s it has settled and so not all the lines are plumb/straight anymore. They took careful measurements and I was notified by voice-mail and email today that the doors are ready and I need to schedule their installation. These doors will also have the high security locks and use the same key as the rest of the locks on the house.
So far I have been very happy with the professionalism of the company. There was a minor miscommunication where they weren't certain if we wanted to order the doors or not, but that was cleared up quickly.
Due to the nature of the locks we ordered, we will need to use this vendor in the future because these locks cannot be picked without the right tools so if we lose a key or lock ourselves out we will need to contact this company instead of just any locksmith. If you choose standard security instead of high security that would not be the case.

"Very well. The locksmith quickly identified the problem and produced a replacement part that fixed the issue. It has been 2 weeks since the repair job and the door has been working like a charm."

"We got Lock Guys off Angies List, called Wayne and he came out the next day. He was  on time, he completed the work promptly and left all locks in good working order.  He was pleasant to deal with- he had asked what color  our existing hardware  and brought the  appropriate match for the new  with our old. We would definitely use him again.

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

If your door handle turns without opening, the most likely culprit is a loose or stripped spindle. This part connects the handles to the latch mechanism, and when it’s not properly engaged, turning the handle does nothing. Other issues might include a broken latch, loose screws, or even something small blocking an inner mechanism. In any case, it’s usually a matter of tightening, adjusting, or replacing a worn-out part inside the handle assembly—or calling in a professional to do it for you.

Whether or not keyless door locks are safe and trustworthy depends on the visibility of the programming code—and a trespasser’s determination. Even if you carefully guard entry and programming codes, those trying to break in may be able to crack open the lock’s faceplate with a screwdriver and change the codes. The same goes for manual models.

Some find smart locks the safest option because it’s harder to manipulate codes without access to your phone. But it’s possible to get hacked even then. Consider installing an extended security system, like door and window alarms or surveillance cameras, to enhance security.

If your key breaks in a lock, first remain calm and avoid forcing the broken piece further in. You may be able to remove it yourself if a portion of the key is still protruding from the lock. To aid removal, lubricate the keyhole with a graphite-based spray. Then, try using tools like pliers, tweezers, a bobby pin, or even a jigsaw blade to gently grasp and pull the broken piece out. If these methods don't work, you can't reach the key, or you're concerned about damaging the lock, it's best to call a professional locksmith for assistance.

Keyless locks are great for convenience, letting you unlock doors with a code or your phone so you don't need to carry keys around. They also often come with helpful features like temporary codes for guests. On the downside, they can be more costly up front and do require batteries that will eventually need replacing. If you value ease of use and additional security features, keyless locks are worth the investment.

The best type of deadbolt depends on your specific needs. If accessibility is your primary concern, a single-cylinder deadbolt is the easiest to operate. Mortise locks are likely the most secure type of deadbolt you can install, but single-cylinders combined with secondary locking mechanisms like vertical locks are also a great option. Smart locks will give you the most flexibility to open and close your locks whenever and wherever you need to.
