"I recently bought a house and was not impressed with the previous owners' paint choices. I called up Master Painters and within 24 hours I had a quote. Within 48 hours, they had started work. I was on a tight timeline because my movers were scheduled for Wednesday. Master Painters started work Monday morning and had painted the entire three story house by Tuesday afternoon. I cannot overstate how impressed I am with the crew's skill and speed. The house feels brand new and I am so pleased that I decided to splurge on getting the whole place done. I will never call anyone else for any future jobs. Worth every penny and then some!"

"We hired Mr. Luper to construct a deck in front of our shed. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. Mr. Luper was great to work with and provided us with updates as needed. The deck was completed in the time frame as promised. The cost of the project was very reasonable. We will call him again for other projects!"

"Nicole and her crew did multiple projects on top of the shingle repairs, including building a whole new front porch for us. Her communication was excellent, the prices were reasonable, and all the work was completed on-time. Would highly recommend Adonai for any of your home repair and construction needs."

"The owner was very prompt and responsive when I called. The job and follow-up were very good and the workers even did a couple of things that were not in the original contract. Have received several complements on the deck appearance since the restoration. I would definitely recommend them.Susan"

Customers say: Quality work

"Miguel came to replace an exterior door that had rot on the bottom. He replaced the entire door and frame with a new door within a couple hours. He made sure I was completely satisfied, even checked for leaks. He did such a great job that I called him back to help with my kitchen door. Price was fair, he was quick and efficient."

"I hired D Design Woodworking to build a floor mirror utilizing an antique mirror from an English armoire. We discussed the design, the type of wood (maple) to be used and the stain color. I received the mirror yesterday and I couldnâ t be happier. The mirror looks great in the frame and Iâ m extremely impressed with the workmanship. The mirror is very substantial and the stain matches our new bedroom furniture perfectly. I cannot recommend D Design more highly."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Most of the time, you’ll want to use screws on your subfloor rather than nails. Nails can actually weaken plywood, whereas screws can easily penetrate without damage. They also form a more secure connection because of their shape, preventing squeaky floors and tightly holding the subfloor in place. That said, some contractors do prefer nails depending on the type of floor covering because they allow for more flexibility.

By careful planning and reinforcement to maintain structural integrity.

Traditionally, bungalows are single-story homes, although having a half or partial story on top of the first floor is common. While adding a second story to a bungalow is certainly possible, the home would no longer be considered a bungalow by the strictest definition.

Not all porch columns are load-bearing, though they can be. Some porch columns are simply decorative. There are ways to identify a load-bearing column, like looking for visible seams and a foundation. Also, check to see if the column directly enters the ground. In some porch installations, a contractor will excavate a hole to install a column into the earth along with a buried cement base for stability.

A cross brace for a fence gate should stretch from the top corner of the gate’s hinge side to the bottom corner of its latch side at a 45-degree angle to the bottom of the gate. This positioning distributes the bulk of the gate’s weight to the base of the post, taking pressure off the top hinge.
