"They did an excellent job getting my AC nice and cold for the summer. They were unable to check other HVAC components on the scheduled date due to a locked box, but they returned and performed the inspection another time at no additional cost!"

"Todd is a great and high quality professional. I hired him to replace HVAC in May of 22. He was very good at communicating, detail oriented which helped me to give the job. He did everything on schedule and was prompt to get back to work on transition glitch from AC to Heat last Nov. I am happy to recommend him ! Thank you!"

"The company convinced us to sign an annual agreement in December 2015 when they performed a "coupon" periodic inspection on the gas furnace. By late May they had not called to perform a periodic inspection on the central split-system air conditioner. Noticed system was running longer than usual and not removing humidity very well. Called to schedule the periodic inspection and advised them system had iced up earlier that week. Technician found refrigerant pressure was low and added 4 pounds R-22 at $110 per pound - system held 6.5 pounds total. He stated he could also add a sealer if I wanted - of course I wanted! Stated the sealer would surely take care of any leaks - additional $95. Ten days later system was not cooling well or removing humidity. Called another company referred to by a friend. That tech looked for a leak in the evaporator coil by spraying with soapy water. With none found he followed the liquid line toward the condenser unit and found the line was discolored in two places where it was laying directly on the ground - furnace and coil are in crawl space - and took photos to show me. Found the leak was in the liquid line. He stated he was not supposed to add R-22 refrigerant to a system with known leaks - for environmental reasons - and we asked for quotes to replace the liquid line and evaporator coil since it was 16 years old and quite corroded - I had also read that particular coil had historically suffered from corrosion issues. As the repair came out at 40 percent of the cost of a new system we went with a new system with a SEER rating 4 points higher than the existing system. I ended up very disappointed that the first company, 1) had not scheduled a periodic check of the air conditioner by June 1; 2) charged more than twice the per pound price for R-22 refrigerant than the second company quoted, and 3) never bothered to look for a known leak in the system. I must add that the technician was very nice and answered a ton of my questions but I believe he put too much confidence in the sealer and should have looked for the known leak before doing anything else."

"The owner was very professional and communication was perfect. I had to have a furnace and water heater replaced in my rental property. The estimates were very reasonable. It was also suggested that I replace the A/C Coils since they were old and needed to be removed in order to replace the furnace. This will save on labor cost in the spring when I have the outside ac unit replaced. The job was completed in a day. I would recommend Climate Mechanical and plan on using them in the future. Thanks"

"This has to be the best experience I have had with any home improvement company hands down. From the first contact to the final installation - everything was perfect. Once I began the search to replace two Air Conditioning units for my house, it was clear once I spoke with Andy and he promptly came out to look at the system and give a quote, that this was the company. Communication prior to installation was great and on the day of installation, 4 very polite and well-dressed employees showed up right on time in well-marked work vans and worked tirelessly throughout the day. A couple of days afterward Joy called to follow up in case I has any questions and was wonderful to talk to. No surprise cost, great customer service, and top-of-the-line professionals. Best company I have dealt with in a very long time!"

"* Technician was knowledgeable * Office appeared disorganized. I did not receive invoices for any work done. I called the office and was able to get them emailed to me. I did not receive a promised call back for service requested. I called them after waiting 2 days. Service was very polite and I could tell they were trying to help. Maybe new staff? * It was painful to pay $695 just to find out I needed to replace the evaporator coil. Granted, this price included 3 pounds of refrigerant. They charge a flat $362 for the leak search regardless of how long it takes. This may be standard practice at all places, however. * The quote to replace the coil seemed way out of the average range. According to the website airconditionerprice.com this should run somewhere between $650 and $1200 based on your region. The quote was $1671. I found a provider on this website with high reviews that did it for $800."

"The tech arrived early and diagnosed the problem quickly, a bad heating element. We confirmed the repair cost, he left and obtained the new part and returned quickly. He completed the repair and cleaned up. He was friendly and courteous and we are satisfied with the work performed. I would hire him again and would recommend him to others."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can build a deck over your outdoor HVAC unit, but you need to leave at least 5 feet of vertical clearance above the unit. If you don’t want your deck to be that high off the ground, you could build a floating deck in another part of your yard—again, as long as you leave at least 4 feet of horizontal space between the deck and your AC unit.

Yesh, heat pumps can easily cool homes when the weather reaches over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, just as powerful air conditioners can. The key is sizing the heat pump correctly for the size of your home and your climate. A local heat  pump professional can help you determine the right size and type for your home.

If you know how to identify supply and return ducts, you’ll find that only the supply ducts will have dampers. Although your return ducts can have dampers, it’s not common. If you have one return duct that is pulling in too much air, adding a damper to it can help with overall system performance. However, dampers on return ducts are not a necessary addition for most homes.

There are several steps you can take to prevent your AC drain from clogging. This includes cleaning the drain line at least every three months, changing the filter every one to three months, and getting your AC serviced annually. Also, if any problems arise with your AC, hire an HVAC technician to deal with them ASAP.

Water buildup in your HVAC system is a cause for alarm. If water accumulates in your ductwork, it can drastically lower your home's air quality and create safety hazards. These risks include mold growth, damage to your HVAC system, and attracting pests that are seeking water into your ducts. Proper insulation and sealing of ducts can prevent this, and regular inspection and maintenance can address water damage problems before they become too severe.
