We have the same issue again, but now have some pavers where the corners are sticking up. We are still under warranty. We?ve been calling them for weeks, submitted a contact form from the internet, emailed them and sent them a message from Facebook marketplace. No response. Do not recommend using,"

"Best experience with tree removal ever! Eric and his crew removed five trees, three of which were leaning severely over a six-foot custom fence. In removing the trees, Eric and his crew were very careful, yet highly resourceful at the same time, using their proven tricks of the trade to do the job quickly, safely, and efficiently. To top it all off, they left my yard cleaner than when they started. This is a first! In the past, other companies have always left me with some cleanup to do; bark bits here, leaves there. Eric and his crew left the yard better than when they first arrived. I could go on and on about what a great experience, from beginning to end, this was. One last thing, in terms of communication, they get top marks there too; friendly and professional, where I always felt valued as a customer. Our first attempt at setting a date fell through as a critical piece of equipment failed and needed repair. Eric thoughtfully called and mentioned this soon after he and the crew were set to arrive, and we simply set another date and time, on which he and the crew showed up early, ready to roll. When you don’t aerate your lawn, the soil will become more compact over time. This limits how much water can soak in to reach the roots of your grass, and it keeps oxygen and carbon dioxide from the plant roots. This can limit grass growth, which may sound great for limiting mowing, but it also leads to a lawn full of grass that looks dull and sparse. Eventually, compacted soil can weaken grass, while also making it more vulnerable to pests, diseases, and erosion and even causing it to die off.

If your lawn hasn't been aerated in over a year, or the soil is incredibly compacted, do two passes with the aerator. The first pass should follow your mowing pattern and the second one should form a perpendicular angle relative to the first. Stick to 20 to 40 holes per square foot as a rule of thumb.

There are a few ways to fix your lawn on a budget, including:

  • Identify the lawn care problem and learn how to seed, fertilize, and aerate your lawn. 

  • Reseed old, damaged lawn with new grass that fares better in your environment. 

  • Remove grass from your yard so you no longer need to worry about lawn care costs.

One of the best ways to soften your grass and prepare it for planting grass seed is aeration. Aerating your lawn will loosen up compacted soil and facilitate a more even balance of nutrients from root to topsoil. We recommend using core aeration methods for the most effective soil-loosening results.

If it’s been a few weeks and you haven’t seen anything pop up, double-check your seed packet and make sure you didn’t miss any steps. Did they need cold stratification (putting seeds in the freezer and then transferring to water before planting)? Do they have an exceptionally long germination period? 

 If you’ve followed all of the directions closely, you may just have had a bad batch of seeds. (Sadly, it happens.)
