"I had previously hired ET Contractors for tree removal work and now wasnted a paver patio installed. Julio Excobar came out and provided a very competitive price, and included a firepit in he plan. His team showed up as promised. The work was done beautifully, and the site cleaned up. Additionally, Julio's team used the stones from an old patio and installed a walkway to our deck. The project looks better than was hoped for. I will hire ET Contractors again for my my next need,"

"The problems were strange and required some investigation. The team first focused on the washer drainage. Eventually they used a camera inserted into the clearance pipe to check the drainage pipe from the house to the septic tank. They discovered a "dip" in the pipe, possibly resulting in an obstruction that might have caused the water to back up, kind of like a rock in a stream. (Admittedly, I may not describe this as clearly as I should...not a plumber!). Using shovels and an excavator, they dug about 5 feet into the ground between the house and the septic tank, ultimately discovering both the dip/weakening in the pipe and a 3" crack (almost half of the pipe) closer to the house. I feel like their work saved us much more money down the road, because without investigating/fixing the "dip" in the pipe, we would never have know about that crack. Without repair, it could would likely have begun leaking back into the foundation. The team was able to replace a 10' section of pipe, connect it to the septic, and confirm a steady drain of water. We have not had the backup or any drainage issues since. However, the smell didn't completely leave the laundry room. They came out again and, after a couple of smoke tests and cuts into the drywall, discovered a vent pipe that had in years past (we've owned the house for 5 years) simply been cut to move the washing machine hookups to the side wall (rather than the back). Although the smoke largely discharged through the roof vents as designed, this uncapped vent allowed septic odors to creep back into the washing room, particularly in the morning when the air outside was heavier. They were able to cap the pipe, and that removed the odor. We have not had any issues since they completed their work. The team was very responsive, and worked with me to reschedule the washing room work after a death in one of the worker's family...only slipped a single day. They also reduced the cost for disconnecting/moving the washer and dryer, since they didn't reconnect them (We were of course going to have to do get drywall repair/paint work after they finished). Although I am hoping to avoid any plumber issues for a while, I know who I will call if something comes up. Absolutely recommend this team."

"Project Manager assisted with choices of tile and fixtures but was not pushy.  Answered questions and was very responsive to any issue I brought to him.  These were everthing from a "real" question to just helping to calm my nerves through the process of having people and disruption in my home.
Crew memebers were exceptional.  They were on time, careful of my home and did their jobs efficiently and with the skill of the craftsmen they are.  They took pride in their work.  They cleaned up each day and left the site at the end very clean.
This project came in on time and on budget.  There were issues to be addressed during the remodel, as there always is, when you start tearing out the old to bring in the new.  Each challenge was met and addressed promptly which helped to keep the project moving along and be completed in a timely fashion.
I will have this team do my next project.

"I am extremely pleased with the kitchen and bath renovation done for me by Suncrest Builders.   Their estimate was fair, honest and reasonable.  Not only was their work superior, but also they started the renovation on time and finished it with no interruptions or delays other than the agreed upon and customary weekends off.  John Cantrall, or his representative, personally checked the project's progress at the beginning and end of each sub task  such as electrical, tiling, plumbing, and painting to assure that  each sub task completed was properly performed and to assure that the following task was properly sequenced and understood.   This  renovation went very smoothly because it was performed by professionals  very skilled and knowledgable in their trade who, when faced with an unexpected problem, simply solved the problem and moved on.

"I was in the middle of a kitchen remodel and existing gas lines were going to cause a problem with the new cabinetry.  I needed a plumber to come out as soon as possible so as not to hold the contractor up.  I called Jiffy Plumber first thing Monday, March 16. They told me someone could be to my house that same day.  I got a call when the plumber was 30 minutes out and by the time I left work and got home, Thomas was there.
My contractor and I explained the situation.  Thomas surveyed the situation and my contractor said unfortunately the cabinet layout I wanted would not work because of the gas line placement.  Needless to say, I was disappointed.  I think Thomas heard the disappointment in my voice and continued to think about ways the gas lines could be modified to allow for the cabinet layout I so desperately wanted.  Eureka!  Thomas came up with a solution that not only would allow the contractor to install the cabinetry as diagrammed but also that would not require cutting the cabinetry to fit.  I almost could have hugged Thomas.  I feel he went over and beyond in resolving the issue.  He told the contractor what he needed him to do to make the gas lines accessible and made the appointment to come back once the contractor had opened up the floor to expose the run of the gas line in the bathroom below.
Thomas returned to do the work on March 20, calling that morning to say he was on his way.  He arrived on time and performed the job within a reasonable amount of time and with interruption to my schedule.  He was very friendly and knowledgeable and even went as far to explain what he was doing.  He also recommended some other work I might want to consider doing in the future. And, I didn't feel like this was a sales pitch.  I appreciated the suggestion.
Would I call Jiffy Plumbing again? Yes.  Would I request Thomas?  Most definitely."

"I have to admit, this went way better than I thought. Austin and Brian H did a great job. We had our attic (and outside) HVAC unit replaced. They found a few things that needed completed/replaced/fixed to make the system optimal. I thought they might "hit me for a bunch of extras" at the end, but they did not. The replacement took longer than expected but that is because they stayed to complete all the extras to optimize the system. In a few months, we will have them take a look at our basement unit. Thanks again."

"I enjoyed working with this company. The helped with some many projects. I had some small leaking into my basement that got a small corner section of carpet wet. John suggested to install a french drain system to the outside which seems to be working really well. They did a spray out in the basement (loved the smell) cleaned my vents and carpet. Great Company and would highly recommend them.

Excavating questions, answered by experts

You can dig 60 to 80 linear feet by hand per day depending on the depth. Digging a 100-foot trench by hand will take you two work days, but it can take longer if you have heavy or rocky soil. If you’re digging a deep trench or one that’s over 100 feet, consider renting a mechanical trencher, such as a walk-behind or ride-on, or calling a pro for help.

There are several methods to hollow out a tree stump, and the best one depends on your tools, experience, and priorities. Common methods include using a chisel and hammer, a chainsaw, or burning.

  • Chisel and Hammer: This is often considered the easiest approach for those with limited tools or experience, though it is the most time-consuming.

  • Chainsaw: Using a chainsaw is the fastest method, but it comes with significant safety risks, especially for inexperienced users.

  • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.

To determine whether your homeowners' insurance will cover crawl space repair, consider the cause of the issue. Repair may be covered if the problems were caused by an event that the insurance covers, such as vandalism or a windstorm. However, companies won't cover the repair if the issues are caused by neglect or wear and tear.

The time it takes to build a pool—and dig out the area—varies based on the pool size and type. A professional excavator will take between four and eight hours to dig a pool. The process will take longer if they encounter large boulders or tree roots. Keep in mind that this is a small part of the process in the long run. You will need between eight and 12 weeks to build a pool from start to finish, including the time to apply for permits.

Whether you grind or dig up and remove your tree stump depends on your landscaping goals. Using a stump grinder leaves the root system in place for it to decompose over time, whereas digging up the tree stump removes the roots and the stump. Overall, stump grinding is a far simpler process since you won’t need to deal with the roots. Stump removal will make your yard look like a demolition site, but you’ll have an easier time replanting in the same place as your former tree.
