"We decided to do a complete remodel of our master bathroom and contracted with Virginia Bath Company (Rich Sowinski) for the job. We couldn’t be more pleased with the way things worked out. We can summarize our experience in “4 C’s.” Communication: Rich was unfailingly responsive. Email and text messages were his primary media, which suited us well (avoiding phone tag). The terms of the contract were precise and explicit. Once the job began, Rich started each day by telling us what he would be doing. We never felt in the dark about any aspect of the work. Courtesy: Given the expected disruption and inconvenience of this kind of project, the personalities of the people doing the work can make things easier or more difficult. Rich and all of his associates were unfailingly polite and pleasant. This seriously lessened the disruption in our lives while the work was being done. In fact, we began to look forward to Rich’s appearance each morning to brief us on the day’s work in his extremely cheerful and positive manner. Coordination: Since this was a complete remodel, the job involved Rich and his assistant, a cabinet maker for the new vanity, a plumber, an electrician, a painter, the people who built and installed the glass door for the shower, and the people who installed the new countertop. Every single one of these did their appointed job on the exact date promised by Rich; there was not a single exception. This speaks volumes about the relationship Rich has with his subcontractors. Craftsmanship: The new bathroom looks great. We do not have a single complaint with the quality of the workmanship (and we have looked over the final result very carefully). Overall, we recommend Virginia Bath Company without reservation. They provided, by far, the best experience we have had with serious work on our house."

"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

"Owner Ricky Stroup was infinitely patient with us, as after our initial meeting it took us over a year to hire his company to do this work. During that year, we had multiple conversations with him regarding the scope of our project, and he was as willing to contract the scope as to expand it. He wrote several proposals for us, so we could see the financial impacts of our different scope options. Our indecision on scope, and delay in scheduling, never caused any frustration or ill will on his part. Mr. Stroup was helpful, friendly, and patient throughout! His team installed everything in one day, and all who worked on our project were extremely courteous and professional. We have been very impressed with the quality of the work. "Our front steps to our porch had seemed to settle, and there were cracks and gaps all over. Knowing we were going to have to rebuild them, we called VA Brick Dr first based on reviews. He even had us send him some pictures over text later in the day so he could start to give us an idea of what we were looking at. He came out the next day and examined our steps. He took a good long look at them and realized only one step had actually shifted, the rest of the steps and base were as they should be. He recommended only rebuilding the one step since everything else was measured correctly. Thrilled with that assessment, we had him do the work. I have no doubt other companies would have looked and just told us to rebuild the whole step structure, but he really took the time to make sure he gave us his honest opinion. About a month later he came and did the repair (weather kept delaying), and the end result came out better than we had hoped. He cleaned up the steps and joints all over, and looks good as new."

"For 3 of my window sashes, I was upsold the hidden screens. One of these windows was impossible for me to close immediately, and another on was difficult to close. A service tech was sent out to examine these hidden screens, (Event Number 230525-002699) and he was able to force the one closed by deforming the vinyl of the window and scratching the latch, and I never heard anything back about it. I had to order a replacement regular screen, at my own expense. I then received an email from you to schedule further service at a time four months after the original complaint, and I replied that I had ordered a replacement for the one screen at my own expense, and that if you were just going to send someone out to examine them and do nothing, not to bother. I then received a phone message from Brendan saying that since I “basically resolved the issue that you already had with the screen” that he was closing out the case. Now another one of the hidden screens is dropping upon opening and does not connect at the bottom of the screen, so I have to replace that as well, at my own expense, because your warrantee is worthless.
