"The handyman named David that was sent for the job was polite at first, then as the project continued on, made some rather off color comments that were unappreciated but ignored because I wanted the job finished. It took several days to complete the job and at the end, the job was NOT done right. The handyman was adamant that he had completed the service correctly and insisted that the door was faulty. I called Home Depot where I purchased the door, they sent 2 specialist out to the house and within 15 min they found that the door was indeed installed incorrectly. I called Handyman Connection and they sent David back out to fix the door, at no extra cost. He again made some off color remarks and again I ignored them because I just wanted the door fixed properly. I was still not satisfied when he finished, but he stated there was nothing else he could do. I waited a day or so then called the company back and insisted they send a different handyman out to correct the mistakes. The company asked for reasons why I was requesting someone else and I explained everything to them. The woman I spoke with was very apologetic and insisted that the problem would be addressed. A different handyman came out to correct the job and he did a wonderful job and was very polite. He refused to leave until I was completely satisfied. I am unsure if I would use this company again. If I do, I will request the second handyman that came out and did the job right.

"Received a call from Parrish Services. We spoke for almost 30 minutes on the phone plus using a video app I was able to stream to him my home heating system. Based on my situation and the current installed oil heating system I would be wasting money trying to change to a new electric system. "Unbelievably amazing! Wes arrived on time and walked all around the house with me to assess my roof, which is high, steeply pitched, and very angular. It is also deep in the woods with lots of trees, and consequently, lots of leaves, especially in piles stuck behind the splash guards. I asked I Wes if he could remove the splash guards so all those leaves wouldn't pile up anymore. He did, and he didn't even charge extra for that, even though it took quite a bit of time and effort. Wes then proceeded to manually clear out all the gutters while I watched from below. And then he took a kind of leaf blower and blew the gutters clean, especially down into the downspouts. The stuff that blew out of those downspouts was an amazing array of clumpy particulate matter, leaf particles, seeds and moss-- and probably some chipmunk nests too! I was astonished. I was also extremely happy I had this done. Wes was so pleasant, professional, thorough, and clean. He left no mess behind and left my property cleaner than before he arrived, because he blew away some of the leaves that were still on my lawn! I will definitely use him next year. I will also have him clean my roof and pressure wash my deck and siding in the spring. I called another company that charged $200 for an estimate.  They gave me a written estimate with pictures, and told me that smoke was leaking from one flu to the next because of cracked flu tiles.  They recommended two stainless steel flu liners, replacing the crown, replacing the four bad bricks, and sealing the outside of the chimney at a cost of $13000.  That wasn't going to happen.  I sent the pictures to another chimney repair company and they would do the same work for $6000. What an eye opener!  How could there be such a disparity?  That's when I called Metropolitan Chimney.  Adolfo looked at the chimney and saw that the cracked flu tiles were near the top of the chimney and could be replaced without needing to reline the flues.  Aldofo was the only person to diagnose the leaking problem. He said, " the two flues were so close together at the top of the chimney. Smoke from one fireplace rose out of the chimney and was sucked down into the adjacent flu,  The smoke came into the house through the other fireplace." The problem was solved with the installation of chimney cap dampers on each flu. I have had a fire in both fireplaces, and smoke has not leaked back into the house.  Aldofo and his coworker were honest, did the work that week, left the house clean, and saved me a lot of money.  It is important to note that the flu liners recommended by the other companies would not have solved the problem of smoke leaking back  into the house. Only Adolfo understood the physical phenomenon of negative pressure as it applied to my fireplaces.
