"Bill came to my house and reviewed and gave me the estimate to do the adding of the red oak wood flooring in part of my 1st floor and the refinishing of the existing red oak flooring on schedule. Once I accepted the proposal, I scheduled them to do the adding of the new flooring for one date and told him that we needed to do the sanding and finishing on another date after the painters finished. He had no problem working with us on these dates and arrived as scheduled for each phase of work. The work was of the highest quality and was done without any disruptions to our daily activities. Bill did all of the work himself and explained everything he was doing and was very courteous and thoughtful to our needs. The floor looks great and I would recommend Apple Floor Solutions for any work that needs to be done. They are reliable, professional, and Bill is the best!!"

"It went very well, the crew is professional, polite, fast, and affordable. My slate kitchen floors were in desperate need of cleaning. Floorescent Shine came and got the job done. Afterwards, the stone popped with color and now has a high gloss wet finish. I am very please with the results and will use this company for all my flooring care

"Fantastic! My floors were in really rough condition before-hand. The entire third floor had carpet over it (we removed that ourselves prior to work being done), and the floors were a mess. They were stained several different colors, scuffed up, and had nail holes from the carpeting. The floors downstairs had numerous discolorations and scuffs as well. Jim McQuitty and team did a phenomenal job refinishing all of the floors and steps on the staircases. They look brand new. It's really an amazing difference.
Everyone was so friendly and professional and they did such a great job accommodating my schedule. It only took them 4 days to refinish each of the first, second, and third floor floors, but I had to have the work spread out over the course of almost two months due to my crazy work and personal schedule, and they were amazingly flexible and willing to work with me on the scheduling. Cat, who works in the main office, was fantastic and very responsive to my numerous questions and requests. Overall, I'm so impressed with this company and can't believe what an amazing job they did. I think the value of my house has increased significantly due to the work they did on my floors. I'm so happy with how everything turned out.

"Dave and his team of subcontractors were very professional and usually on time. I thought they did a good job. But I just had a problem with my wine cooler, which they had installed, less than 2 years ago. I tried calling owner(David) and he would not return my phone call. I thought they did a good job until I needed to have Wine cooler serviced. We could not get wine cooler out from under counter. They just put in hole, the flooring under was 3/8 in lower than the tile in front of it.  I left message for owner David Smith to call me, I had a problem, he never called me back. I guess it was take the money and run.  The only way to get wine cooler out was to cut up a good fairly new( 2 years old) wine cooler. I am very disappointed. I had to purchase a new wine cooler and have a contractor do it right, this time. making the flooring even before installation. Because due to the levelers in back we could not get out from under cabinets with out ruining the wine cooler. So in the long run, they cost me over $1,000 to fix what they could have doen when they did the job for less than $25.

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

ALTA/ACSM surveys are the most comprehensive type of land survey and, as such, tend to be the most expensive. These surveys have standardized guidelines and reports and are used in many kinds of real estate transactions to ensure consistent and accurate information is available for properties.

To hire a land surveyor, you need to start by searching online for reputable professionals in your area. Here are a few steps to take when making a shortlist:

  • Browse land surveyor service website

  • Check credentials

  • Read customer reviews

  • Find their contact information

  • Call or email to inquire about more information

  • Ask how far they travel, if you’re some distance away

  • Find out how they charge for their services

  • Ask about schedule and turnaround times

  • Repeat these steps for one to two other services and compare pricing

If you can’t find any records online, you’ll need to contact your county clerk’s office to do further research. They should have property records on file, or can at least point you in the right direction of who to contact. You can also speak with your neighbors about when their houses were built because they were likely built around the same time.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.
