"After searching for an honest and reputable floor resurfacer, I found Apple Flooring. I recently bought a new house that had nice hard wood floors on the bottom floor. I wanted to resurface and stain them a little darker to bring the place to life. Bill took great care to make sure that all floors were properly leveled/evened and then wen to work on stain and poly. The result was amazing. His equipment is top notch and produced little dust. He also cleaned up after himself daily. That is amazing this day and age where contractors do the job and leave you with the mess! Not Bill! You will be happy with the results. My neighbors took my advice and hired Bill without even a thought. His work and work ethic is amazing. You wont regret your decision to go with apple flooring."

"McQuitty Floors did an outstanding job on refinishing my hardwood floors. I called for an estimate and Mr McQuitty himself came out the next day to do the measuring and the estimate. He is extremely nice and professional and has been refinishing floors since before I was born. He offered me a Angie's List discount without me having to ask him for it. His office manager, Cat, emailed me a detailed and extremely fairly priced quote the next day and was very helpful in scheduling a time that was convenient to do the work. The crew showed on time and were very polite and professional. They finished exactly when they said they would (3 days for my 4 room first floor). The floors look amazing. Before. they were quite worn and dull and had quite a few stains. Now they look brand new. I could not be more impressed with this company. I would highly recommend them to anyone."

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Land surveying maintenance in Suffolk involves periodically checking and replacing boundary markers, especially after severe weather. Clearing brush around survey points and updating survey records every 10-15 years or after property changes is important. For homes near wetlands or flood zones, keeping flood elevation certificates and environmental surveys current is essential, particularly after major storms or zoning updates that may affect your property.

Helpful?

In Suffolk, property boundaries often need surveying after storms or when corner markers shift. Fences, driveways, and walkways near the edge of your lot are common areas requiring attention. Additions like decks, pools, or sheds—especially those over 120 square feet—typically prompt new surveys. Rural properties may also need checks for septic systems, wells, and utility easements, which are prevalent in Suffolk.

Helpful?

After a land surveying project in Suffolk, keep the original signed survey plat, legal property descriptions, and digital copies of all documents. Hold onto building permit applications referencing the survey, zoning compliance certificates, and flood elevation records. Photos of boundary markers, GPS coordinates, and any correspondence with surveyors or local officials should also be saved. Secure both paper and digital copies for future reference.

Helpful?

Delaying land surveying in Suffolk can lead to unresolved boundary disputes, especially where historic and new developments meet. Over time, neighbors’ structures may encroach and become difficult to challenge. You might also overlook zoning or setback violations, which can halt future projects. In flood-prone Suffolk, outdated surveys can miss changes in wetlands or floodplain boundaries, increasing the risk of compliance issues and insurance complications.

Helpful?

During a land surveying project in Suffolk, surveyors focus on property corners, boundary lines, and any existing markers. They also assess fence lines, nearby structures, and topographical features like streams or wetlands, which are common in Suffolk’s landscape. Driveways, utility lines, and compliance with local setback and floodplain regulations are thoroughly reviewed to ensure your property meets all legal and environmental requirements.
