"If you want to work with someone condescending, rude, confrontational, unprofessional, and whose contractors workmanship is probably the worst I have ever encountered in my 30 years of working with contractors, THIS IS YOUR GUY. I can ramble on about the false promises, the horrible workmanship, the constant delays, the lack of communication, the rude and confrontational text messages. I guarantee Mr. Shank will in fact respond to this review and try to flip the script and blame it all on me somehow. He talks very poorly about all his customers well at least the ones he doesn't like. Not sure what that is based on although I do have some idea what is based on. But he never made anything explicit, so I can't make accusations that he is a racist. So I am definitely not saying he is a racist because he didn't do anything racist. But if he was a racist it would explain why he didn't give two poops about doing good work for multiple projects I provided him. I also have multiple properties and was hoping to make Mr. Shank a lifelong contractor. In a nutshell, he has done 2 projects for me at 2 properties. One was installing a threshold for a glass enclosed shower stall. His crappy sub contractor (they are not employees) despite him saying they are employees, did not install any grouting on the threshold. Fast forward 1 year, and mold is popping up all around the threshold. Rather than dealing with this individual, I hired another contractor to fix up his mess. Second job, and my second mistake, I hired him for a full scale home renovation for around 50K. That project was an absolute disaster. He took 3 months to do what he promised to me verbally would be a 3 week job. I don't really want to spend 1 hour writing down all the crap he did wrong. I'll try so sum up the highlights. Ripped out old flooring, promised to make new flooring level after installing new concrete by using lasers. New flooring is totally not level and as bumpy as walking on your local trail. The shoe moldings around the flooring look like a child installed them. I had to argue with him to get him to regrout the bathroom which was in his contract in the first place. I can go on and on. For sure if you are someone that Mr. Shank likes and match his criteria of what he likes, whatever that could be I have no idea definitely not race related. He may do a great job for you and that may explain the great reviews. I myself had a horrible experience with Mr. Shank and his group of sub contractors who just plain do terrible work. Ignore my review or take it seriously, frankly this guy will keep getting business cause he's a great salesman. Even has a LinkedIN profile to show how professional he is. Epic scammer and fraud. Stay away."

"Excellent customer service. Excellent finished product. West Shore Home came to install a shower in one bathroom and bathtub/shower in another bathroom. Their customer service is top tier! They took extra caution to ensure they didn’t damage or disrupt my home or other furniture as they carried their equipment in and out of the house. They encouraged me to see the progress as they worked. (Nothing to hide is always a good thing.) When I expressed surprise and disappointment with one aspect of the design, they immediately began solutioning the issue."

" I am paid more than 80k to redo my pool house located in Mclean, VA. The pool never worked. Always green. Every time you call, they will send one cleaning crew for 180$, but the answer from them was that the pool will be better after a few days. After a few days, the pool is green, and you call again, and they will say our pool needs multiple cleanings, and they will do various cleanings and send various invoices. When cleaning, they say the pool will improve in a few days. After a few days, if you call to ask why the pool is green, they will say it's one more service. This pool was reconstructed, and the same company did the plumbing and machines. Please be careful when hiring this company complete rip-off. After ripping off, they will say customers do not know anything about the pool. This is the value they will give to the customer who paid around 80k "

"OK, so Mr. Frank was very professional. All his team was very professional, very polite. They were on time and they went far and beyond of what they were supposed to do and did not charge me more than what they said, so I am very very very satisfied with the work that Frank did, and I wanted to thank him team for being so wonderful and such a great People, we don’t get that anymore in America, but he definitely gave me that. And I’m so happy that I hired him. I had five different people that I got proposals from, and I called all of them multiple times to check on things. And definitely Frank. He definitely made this right. So if anybody needs a Plumber, that’s the guy needs to be hired once again. Thank you very much for all your services. "Smart Pools 21 owner, Cesar, completed a complete pool renovation for us in 2019. This year we had 3 tiles come off at the waterline. We called Cesar and, even though he and his team are extremely busy this time of year, he sent a member of his crew by to replace the tiles. We continue to be pleased with Smart Pools 21, Cesar, and his team. We still have some work to do in our little piece of the world. We look forward to the next project with Cesar."

"Mike and team from Hawaiian Pool and Spa recently replaced my inground pool liner. They did a great job and stuck with the project until completed. I had some additional issues that pop up (failed pump and leaky light) which they also fixed. Would recommend and use them again."

"Our deck caught fire last summer and we contracted Chris Heinz to do the rebuilding and replacement of our fire-damaged exterior. Chris was wonderful to work with! He worked with our insurance company tirelessly and also kept us informed every step of the way. He and his crew removed our old deck and siding, and built a new deck, a landing and stairs off our kitchen, installed a new sliding door and four windows, replaced our siding and trim, and installed new outdoor lighting. There were a few delays due to the pandemic and materials being readily unavailable from one of the manufacturers, but the timeframe was reasonable given the circumstances. Chris and his crew did an amazing job and we couldn’t be happier. We love our beautiful new deck and the new siding and trim. We get so many compliments from our neighbors and passers-by! We will definitely go to Chris next time we need work on our house and recommend him to everyone!"
