Handyman Was not able to fix the shower control issue. So I asked to focus on replacing sash cords. Did not appear to be an expertise.

Their rate is to high the customer is to pay for employees salary.

Sean arrived on time and got to work right away. He worked steadily for 3.5 hrs. The gutters were packed with debris and plants were growing in them. The roof had a huge pile of debris that needed to be removed. Sean was very pleasant and easy to work with. He did need to borrow our leaf blower but that was because the job was more complicated due to the structure of the roof and characteristics of the debris. We were very happy with his help and the ease of contacting Mr. Handyman and making the appointment.

Worker was friendly, communicated well, and did a thorough job. Customer service at the main office was responsive and friendly. They charge by the hour and was billed for 3.75 hours, when I thought it was closer to 3 hours. It seems they start the clock as soon as they pull up and park. I'd recommend you ask exactly when they start charging.

Brian Kinder the technician was excellent, knowledgeable, caring. He did the replacement of vent pipe and roof cap in about 1.5 hrs. The work was very professional. Will definitely be using again when services are needed.

Poor customer service. I called several times, emailed both photos and a video of the job that needed to be done. I asked for a very rough estimate. They kept promising they'd get back to me with a rough quote. After 1 month of waiting and several phone calls and emails, still no response or reply. Avoid this business if you need any work done in a timely fashion.

It went GREAT! Sean did a terrific job of installing a very heavy and badly designed range hood that had come with inadequate screws. Lots of difficulties to contend with! But he handled the job with skill and humor. We would definitely rehire and are very grateful for the professionalism of Sean and the entire company.

It did not go well. The technician had a good attitude. But despite describing the bathroom sink fixture job in detail when it was submitted, the technician did not come with the requisite plumbing tools, so was not able to complete the job. "Sorry, I'm not really a plumber," he told us. So it seems that the home office did not prepare him in order to succeed on the job. For the microwave installation, the technician scratched the surface of the walls when he was installing it (due to the new microwave being slightly larger than the last one). It seems that he didn't really judge the size before he inserted it, causing the existing drywall to crack. Had he installed it more delicately, the wall damage likely could have been avoided. This damage caused him to have to leave the home to purchase drywall mix. So what he left us at the end of the job was an unpainted wall with caked drywall (that was in process of drying). He said that we could arrange to have him return to sand it down and paint it, but we said no thanks. Lastly and perhaps most importantly - we felt misled by the initial estimate. The salesperson said that the microwave and sink together would likely take around ~2 hours. "These jobs seem pretty simple," we were told. But it took 3.75 hours for just the microwave alone, in part due to the breaking of the wall that occurred. And the technician wasn't able to even start on the sink replacement, since he didn't have the right tools. Had he had the right tools, that job alone would have taken him a couple of hours, he thought. So again, the initial estimate of a couple of hours just seemed misleading.

Our experience with Mr. Handyman of South Montgomery County was excellent all around. They have a good answering service and scheduling system and are very good at communicating with the customer. We had a leak in our first floor ceiling with water apparently coming out of the tub in the master bath through the ground and out of the ceiling fan on the floor underneath. We had a similar leak several years ago, which had resulted in us having to renovate the bathroom upstairs (bc the precise source of the leak could not be found) and we feared that it would be as big a job again. Dan Hastings, who is the proprietor of Mr. Handyman of SMC, came out himself to do an insurance estimate for diagnosing the leak and fixing it if the issue was in the pipes or between floors. (Not including possible tilework or major renovations of the bathroom upstairs.) The estimate was quite reasonable and we agreed that Mr. Handyman of SMC would start first by cutting open the ceiling and trying to fix the leak from below. Antonio came to do the work yesterday and he is great. He was on time, respected COVID-19 protocols, works quickly, and is nice and friendly, but most importantly he found the source of the leak and fixed it! When he first cut into the ceiling, he learned that the water wasn't coming from any of the pipes and it appeared to be coming from the wall above. (Our two bathrooms and showers/bathtubs are back to back and share a wall meaning that there is no place to cut into the wet wall without cutting tile.) Before cutting any tile, however, he investigated the area from within the bathrooms and correctly deduced that there was a broken metal/brass fitting behind the tub spout. How he figured that out, I have no idea. But he was able to replace the fitting and address the leak through the spout opening. No more leak and no expensive tile work! Antonio also moved the ceiling fan that was downstairs (which he discovered was incorrectly installed and not anchored in a stud when he removed it to investigate the leak) and installed it in a bedroom upstairs and took down the old ceiling fan in that bedroom. The ceiling fan is working great. Antonio also drywalled the ceiling, not only where he had to cut the hole to investigate the leak, but also because the water had led to a seam line in other parts of the ceiling. We're going to paint the whole house soon, so we didn't ask him to paint, but he was willing to do that as well. The drywall and mud look very flush to the ceiling and he left the ceiling ready for painting. Finally, Antonio gave us some good advice on other electrical matters while he was here, which helped us to address an issue with a light fixture that we had. Overall, this was a great experience and a major relief that we don't have to retile parts or all of our master bath. Thank you, Antonio and Mr. Handyman!

Max is very professionally proud handyman familiar with field tricks. He did the job but he spoiled my opinion of Handyman of South Montgomery by taking extra amount of time (paid by the hours) for measurement, re-measurement, shopping for supply, removing debris longer, making trips to get cut couple framing lumber to my garage unnecessarily (saw could be place in proximity of the project site) and so on. He managed to remove old and install to the same place one new French door for overall 2 full working days. He made up couple inches additional to 2 sides of the door frame because rough opening was a little extra wide for door size. To my observation this project would take 1 and ½ day easily but I paid for 2. Overall, French door installation became golden priced for me by installation alone-$2.000.

This is the 4th time I've hired Mr. Handyman, and the biggest job yet. I needed a wooden 8 x 10 shed assembled from a kit and anchored to a concrete slab. Bobby and Sean knew what they were doing. They did a fantastic job of wrestling the large, heavy pieces into place, deciphering the less-than-clear instructions provided by the manufacturer, and finishing most of the job in one day. They cleaned up after they were done, and were very helpful and professional throughout. Obviously, I am repeat customer, but I will continue to hire this service for my handyman needs.

In two visits, technician (Max) did an excellent and time-efficient job completing a small list of needed handyman work. .

Sean arrived on time, was very pleasant and professional. Described what work I needed to have done and provided the material to do the work. He worked very efficiently and I am very pleased with the end results. Have used Mr. Handyman since moving into our house 13 years ago and will continue to use them since we are not very handy.

Outstand service. Installation of a cooling unit in a wine cellar. Quite complicated and the tech Chris Grothe had to improvise to as it was replacing a different kind of unit. Very profession, very safe and very careful in all of his work. Cleaned up after he was done. (cleaner than when he arrived). Workmanship was perfect. Would definated use them for all future jobs and would ask for Chris.

It was all we had hoped for and more. Enhancements that I had not considered were incorporated into the repair process that gives us peace of mind that water and moisture problems are not likely to occur again in that area of the porch for many years.

Great service. It was expensive, but well worth it to me.

So this takes a tiny bit of telling but it's worth it. Mr. Handyman came in to install a backsplash and the original job fell below our expectations. When I bought my concerns to Dan - who I believe runs the show - he drove out to see for himself and offered a complete redo of the job at no cost to us. The incredible contractor who came over to fix things had to spend about 5X the time of the original installation to fix everything, which included reinstalling drywall before doing the actual backsplash. Not only was the new job absolutely perfect, but he went above and beyond in every possible way on our behalf. While this could have had a different outcome, I can say without qualification that Mr. Handyman earned my loyalty for as long as I live in this area. I highly recommend them.

Had a great experience hiring Antonio from Mr. Handyman of S Montgomery County. He did an impeccable job removing our old attic ladder and installing a new one - it's something we could never have done ourselves. We're planning to hire him again for some other odd jobs around the house. This company also has a very organized scheduling system and friendly customer service. Recommended!
