UPDATE - They have reached out to me and are coming to my home on 1/8/15. I will update again after I meet with them.

UPDATE - 2/4/2015 - They did come to my home and provided an estimate and plan for lighting our back yard and deck. 6 lights were included in our original purchased deal. Their proposal was for the original 6 lights plus another $1500 worth of lighting. I like their plan but we weren't prepared to spend the additional money at this time. They came out yesterday and installed just the initial 6 lights. They arrived on time and the work they did is wonderful. Our deck is beautifully lit now and I am very happy. While this relationship got off to a rocky start, they made it right and we will hire them again when we're ready to finish the back yard lighting. Also - the deal was supposed to be for the front of the house - but that wasn't clear when I bought the deal - so they allowed us to use our 6 lights on the deck. I'm sure they want the front so that they can show off their work - and that makes sense to me - as their work is worth showing off. I would now highly recommend this company."

"He was not able to fix the light fixture, but he took it down so that I could take it to a lamp shop.  He changed the outlet, which didn't need to be fixed necessarily and placed the boxes in upside dow.  The dimming controls works opposite. When the light increases, the dim switch slides down instead of up. Simple things, that could have been done the correct way.

"Marshall Painter is a gentleman and a true craftsman!
He showed up for the estimate when he said he would, dressed as a professional. He provided a timely, written estimate and detailed drawings. He made recommendations that we would not have thought about that made sense, were not expensive, and improved both the safety and appearance of the finished product. While his bid was slightly lower than the other bids we recieved, we went with him based on his attention to detail in the estimating process and not just because he was the low bidder.
We were very smart to have chosen Marshall. He and his crew were on time and did not make a mess. He consulted with us at every step along the way, and when he ran into problems, he absorbed them and did not try to increase his price. "I'm an adult," he would say. He was personally on the job site every day, and he worked hard along with his crew, and did not just supervise them. When we asked for changes and additional work, he was reasonable as to their costs and very accomodating, even when it involved removing some railing that he had already installed and inserting an additional gate.
We could not be happier with the finished product. It looks terriffic. With the lighting that he installed, we feel like we are at some fancy hotel. And his recommendations as to these kind of finishing touches were much better than our original ideas and were not really that much more expensive.
We are happy customers, and would highly recommend Marshall Painter. I have already done so to my brother, and you know what a risk you take making unsolicited recommendations to family!

"Contractor arrived earlier than scheduled and got straight to work.  Unfortunately the problem with the light involved more complex electrical work than I had thought so it was not fixed.  However, he did fix the problem I was having with the faulty lighting in the ceiling fans from my original request - I was using the wrong light-bulbs.  Go figure!
